According to reports at the time, <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/legend-of-zelda-tv-series-netflix\/\">it was aiming to\u00a0be &#8220;<em>Game of Thrones<\/em> for a family audience,&#8221;<\/a> following the franchise&#8217;s standard affair of Link having to embark on a dangerous quest to save all of Hyrule from the clutches of evil.<\/p>\n<p>Thanks to\u00a0new details from\u00a0former College Humor star\u00a0Adam Conover, <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/zelda-series-netflix-canceled\/\">it was confirmed today that the show was real and canceled due to leaks<\/a>, however, the comedian also clarified that a second Nintendo adaptation was in the works. First spotted by Eurogamer, Conover claims in an interview with\u00a0The Serf Times that he found out about the cancellation due to working on his own Nintendo adaptation, with the comedian slated to create\u00a0a &#8220;<em>Fantastic Mr. Fox\u00a0<\/em>style&#8221;\u00a0<em>Star Fox\u00a0<\/em>TV show.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/sonic-hedgehog-animated-series-netflix\/\">Netflix Announces New &#8216;Sonic the Hedgehog&#8217; Animated Series<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Recounting a story about how Shigeru Miyamoto came to visit the College Humor offices while the show was in production, Conover goes on to cite that his <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/star-fox\/\"><em>Star Fox<\/em><\/a> show and the<em>\u00a0Legend of Zelda<\/em> live-action adaptation were dropped abruptly. Someone at Netflix had allegedly leaked the <em>Zelda\u00a0<\/em>show online, leading to the widespread reports, with the comedian claiming &#8220;Nintendo freaked out&#8230; they pulled the plug on everything.&#8221; Conover cites the nervousness as being down to the company having not adapted any of its iconic properties to the screen in years, leaving them more than a little\u00a0anxious when everything was leaked online. In the years since, it seems as though Nintendo has begun to soften its stance on adaptations, with the company currently working on bringing\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/super-mario-movie-release-date\/\"><em>Super Mario\u00a0<\/em>to the big-screen through\u00a0<em>Despicable Me\u00a0<\/em>creator Illumination<\/a>.
