It’s been a long, winding road for\u00a0The Division 2\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>since it first launched in 2019, with the game going through many of the growing pains that other live service titles do. Ultimately, fans have received many of the changes they requested, and while there are some lingering issues, Ubisoft Massive is introducing some\u00a0Resident Evil\u00a0<\/em>crossover content<\/a> as a nice distraction for players, which is available starting today.<\/p>\n

The event adds a new uniform to\u00a0The Division 2\u00a0<\/em>modeled after Leon Kennedy’s RPD outfit from\u00a0Resident Evil 2<\/em><\/a>.\u00a0<\/em>Players don’t need to do anything special to unlock the clothing options, as they’re granted as a login bonus to anyone that jumps in between now and February 15. The outfit consists of three pieces, one for the chest, another for the legs, and some boots. The set is instantly recognizable but blends well with\u00a0The Division 2<\/a>‘s\u00a0<\/em>post-collapse aesthetic.<\/p>\n

On top of the Leon Kennedy outfit, several others have been added to the game. Players can unlock the Umbrella Corporation Operative uniform, Chris Redfield S.T.A.R.S. uniform, Jill Valentine\u00a0S.T.A.R.S. uniform, and Rebecca Chambers\u00a0S.T.A.R.S. uniform through caches earned while playing, or by spending premium currency, during the event. The Resident Evil<\/em>\u00a0event also includes weapon skins and a few other rewards for players to earn.<\/p>\n

During the event, players are able to complete daily projects\u00a0that will net some of the cosmetic rewards. Each daily project completed will earn players a backpack trophy\u00a0and an arm patch. It’s important to note that the event is only live until February 15, so players will want to earn as many rewards as possible while they still can. However, there is an “event closing” phase that will last from February 16 to February 22, during which time players are able to spend any leftover rewards they have in their inventory.<\/p>\n

Announced during the\u00a0Resident Evil Village\u00a0<\/em>reveal stream<\/a>, the limited-time event is in celebration of\u00a0Resident Evil’s\u00a0<\/em>25th anniversary.\u00a0The Division 2\u00a0<\/em>regularly runs limited-time events, but the\u00a0Resident Evil\u00a0<\/em>anniversary celebration is something new for the franchise. It’s unclear if this will mark a new era of crossover events for the game or if it’s simply a one-off for all of those involved.<\/p>\n

Regardless, the event is a good way to generate excitement for\u00a0Resident Evil Village<\/em><\/a>\u00a0<\/em>while drawing players back into\u00a0The Division 2.\u00a0<\/em>Plus, the update included a few next-gen enhancements for\u00a0The Division 2,\u00a0<\/em>so it’s all-around a great time for new and returning players to see what they’ve been missing out on recently.<\/p>\n

The Division 2\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. PS5 and Xbox Series X enhancements are enabled through backward compatibility.<\/p>\n
