It\u2019s an enticing premise, and one that has kept the <\/span>Microsoft Flight Simulator<\/i><\/strong> series going strong for years, leading to <\/span>Microsoft Flight Simulator<\/span><\/i> 2020 being the fastest growing entry in the series<\/span><\/a> so far. As the game looks to the future, the Head of <\/span>Microsoft Flight Simulator<\/span><\/i> is interested in making the game accessible through the Cloud.<\/span><\/p>\n

Microsoft Flight Simulator\u00a0<\/em>originally released on PC\u00a0with Xbox Game Pass, and has recently added VR support for PC users<\/a>. The 2020 entry in the series boasts highly-detailed 3D environments, tons of aircraft options, and continued support and improvements in the coming years.<\/p>\n

In a sit down with AusGamers, Jorg Neuman, the Head of Microsoft Flight Simulator<\/em>,\u00a0talked about bringing the game to new platforms. While the\u00a0team is mainly focused on getting\u00a0Microsoft Flight Simulator\u00a0<\/em>onto the Xbox Series X and S<\/a>, Neuman said he is interested in how Microsoft’s Project xCloud might be able to handle the game.\u00a0<\/span>Neuman says that he is looking forward to exploring the Cloud, as it “can reach people in different places and different situations,” and\u00a0that he is fascinated by the potential.<\/p>\n

Project xCloud is now folded into Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, but\u00a0it is Microsoft’s\u00a0technology for\u00a0cloud gaming. While Google Stadia’s ill-fated closures<\/a> might have some gamers concerned, the future of cloud gaming is still very bright.\u00a0Microsoft Flight Simulator<\/em> isn’t a light game. If the game was to be made available through the Cloud, it may entice many more players to try it out who might not have high-end PCs or the new generation of Xbox.<\/p>\n
