Capcom\u00a0showed off\u00a0Castle Dimitrescu\u00a0in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/resident-evil-showcase-event-recap-jan-21\/\">the <em>Resident Evil<\/em>\u00a0showcase event<\/a>, which will have\u00a0its share of secrets, macabre puzzles, and new enemies to fight and run away from. Now Capcom\u00a0is starting to promote a\u00a0bit of the game&#8217;s\u00a0story and mystery.<\/p>\n<p>The<em>\u00a0Resident Evil<\/em> Twitter dropped\u00a0hints about the upcoming <em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/resident-evil-8\/\">Resident Evil 8<\/a>&#8216;s<\/em> story in two tweets released\u00a0a week apart with a few\u00a0bits and pieces of information for fans. The first tweet showed\u00a0a letter sent from a mysterious figure signed only as MM with instructions to follow their preparations, while the second tweet contained\u00a0a brief field log about recent activity taking place around an unknown location.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/resident-evil-village-new-details-features\/\">Resident Evil Village: New Details and Features<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Capcom did this type of promotion before\u00a0with <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/resident-evil-7-review\/\"><em>Resident Evil 7<\/em><\/a> before its release. The company\u00a0released\u00a0the &#8220;Beginning Hour&#8221; demo, which gave players a better idea of what to expect as the\u00a0launch date drew closer. This time, Capcom seems to be dropping hints on the game&#8217;s official Twitter about aspects of the game that\u00a0deepen the mystery a bit further.<\/p>\n<p>The new game&#8217;s\u00a0story continues the journey\u00a0of Ethan Winters as he searches for\u00a0his kidnapped daughter, leading\u00a0him to the village and the eerie Castle Dimitrescu, home to the mysterious Lady Dimitrescu and her bloodthirsty daughters.\u00a0While the game promotes\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/resident-evil-village-8-how-tall-lady-dimitrescu-height\/\">the\u00a0towering Lady Dimitrescu<\/a> as the main villain, it may be foreshadowing a bigger\u00a0mastermind\u00a0at work. It also connects to why the note is instructing the recipient to make their preparations as instructed with the\u00a0warning &#8220;Do not disappoint me.&#8221; Mother Miranda might not make an appearance but will likely remain an influential presence in the game&#8217;s story.<\/p>\n<p>The second tweet was\u00a0a confidential\u00a0field log titled &#8220;No: Re-VIII&#8221; showing someone&#8217;s watching the comings and goings of a particular location, which some speculate to be the castle. The log reports discovering signs of\u00a0dragged bodies along a certain route\u00a0and that they&#8217;ll\u00a0continue monitoring the occupants and activities of said location.
