Throughout this weekend, Xbox<\/strong> Live Gold holders can access two games for free.\u00a0Microsoft reveals a special deal this upcoming weekend for players currently owning an Xbox Live Gold subscription.<\/p>\n

Those currently playing on Xbox<\/a> will know that Xbox Live Gold is necessary for online games. However, to sweeten the deal Microsoft throws in plenty of other benefits\u00a0for users.\u00a0Between the two free games per month and consistent game discounts, Xbox Live does include extra features<\/a>. On top of that, there is a special going on this weekend that includes two additional free games for players with Xbox Live Gold or a Game Pass Ultimate membership.<\/p>\n

The games that are free for this weekend only are The Sims 4<\/em> and Puyo Puyo Tetris 2<\/em>. Many gamers will be familiar with\u00a0the Sims<\/em> series, one which sees players living a virtual lifestyle. The newest entry, The Sims 4<\/em>,\u00a0came out in 2014 but has seen consistent updates since then. On the other hand,\u00a0Puyo Puyo Tetris 2<\/em>\u00a0combines the fast gameplay of the two puzzle game series into one package. Fans of these titles can play the traditional versions separately or cross them over. From adventure mode to online versus matches<\/a>, Puyo Puyo Tetris 2<\/em> offers a host of modes to engage with.<\/p>\n

Players will need to act fast though, because these two titles are only free for the weekend. Available until Sunday, February 7, gamers can download the titles from the Xbox website or through the Subscriptions tab in the digital store on console. While it is clear these offerings are more of a short term demo, each game will have a discount once they are no longer free. The Sims 4<\/em> will have an 80% off sale, and Puyo Puyo Tetris 2<\/em> is going to be $30.<\/p>\n

Free play weekends are a great way of introducing players to games they may not have tried before.
