Terraria\u00a0<\/strong><\/em>has a large selection of armor and weapons that players can use in the game. Between all the cosmetic Terraria<\/em> armor<\/a>\u00a0options, players can completely customize how their character will look. They can even use dyes to change colors of armor and even add animations to them.<\/p>\n

In\u00a0Terraria<\/em>, dyes function a lot like equipment. They are equipped to armor and vanity items in their third item slot. This means the dyes are not usable items, and can be easily switched out or removed at a whim. Players who like to alter the color of their armor and outfits can just keep several dyes at the ready, changing the colors whenever they wish. Many of even the rarest Terraria<\/em> items<\/a> have a dye slot available.<\/p>\n

Players can purchase dyes as well as make them from raw materials. Dyes can be purchased for 5 gold from the Dye Trader, who was one of the many NPCs added during Terraria<\/em>‘s update 1.2<\/a>. The Dye Trader will spawn at a player’s home only when the player has a Strange Plant in their inventory.<\/p>\n

Making dye requires a Dye Vat crafting station. Players can purchase the Dye Vat from the Dye Trader for 5 gold. The Dye Vat can be used to make dye from raw materials or it can combine dyes together to make new ones. Either way, players will need to summon a Dye Trader to get some colorful changes to their outfits.<\/p>\n

There\u00a0are a large number of dyes that players can make in\u00a0Terraria<\/em><\/a>. While there are a grand total of 65 different colors and combined colors of dyes, here is a list of the basic dyes that players can create from found materials.<\/p>\n
