Like other Zombies maps, Firebase Z offers several side easter eggs for Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em><\/strong> fans to complete. One of these side quests sees Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em><\/a> players being rewarded with a free perk, though the quest itself is a long one.<\/p>\n

As such, Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War<\/em> players should only do this special side easter egg<\/a> if they are experienced with Firebase Z. With the rewards only being a perk and a cypher for puzzle-solvers, casual players are likely to find the quest too involved and would be better off buying their perks. For Call of Duty<\/em> Zombies veterans, though, this fun safe quest could serve as a great way to save a few points.<\/p>\n

For players to have the ability to start on the locker-opening process, they must make some slight progress in Firebase Z\u2019s main easter egg. Like the upgrades for Die Maschine\u2019s DIE Shockwave Wonder Weapon, where players needed to do the Aetherscope step<\/a> of the main quest to build some of the variants, acquiring the Serum of Firebase Z is a prerequisite. To get the Serum, players should talk to Peck after activating the map\u2019s power.<\/p>\n

From there, returning to Ravenov<\/a> and talking with Samantha\u2019s Russian contact will see him granting players a Keycard which they can use to open three white lockers around the map. The lockers are in the Equipment Storage room across from Ravenov, the Colonel\u2019s Office above Juggernog, and the Engineering Room found to the left of the Helipad. After picking up the canisters inside the lockers, players can use them to make a device in the Field Hospital.<\/p>\n

With the device in-hand, players should head to the large sphere referred to in-game as the OPC. To the left of this building is an AC unit, which players should use the Serum device on. Afterwards, they can talk with Peck and begin work on the actual Safe easter egg.<\/p>\n

After speaking with Peck, players will want to head to the Data Center and grab one of the Essence Traps that appear from a wall on the building\u2019s upper level. Players should then lower a zombie\u2019s health to where only a sliver is remaining, throwing the trap on the ground in front of them. With the weak zombie stuck in the trap, players should double-tap the interact button as if they throwing C4. If players are having trouble with this part of the process, attempting to capture a weak Mangler or Mimic mini boss<\/a> could prove easier.<\/p>\n

After playing Call of Duty<\/em> Zombies\u2019 version of Pokemon<\/em>, players will need to secure Sergei\u2019s severed head. Though the head spawns in several random places, it can always be found in Firebase Z\u2019s Assault round<\/a> areas. Players should search near the zombie spawns in each of these areas, as the head will always be in the outskirts of the map as opposed to inside the trenches. Once players find the glowing yellow skull, they will want to carry it back to the Field Hospital to complete this entertaining side quest.<\/p>\n

Inside the Field Hospital, players can find another device, with the item serving as a place to drop the head and filled-up Essence Trap. After placing both inside the device, Sergei\u2019s head will come to life, shouting numbers at the player before dashing toward them and exploding. Fortunately, those playing Firebase Z<\/a> will not need to memorize these numbers, as the safe automatically opens.<\/p>\n

Players can find the safe in the Colonel\u2019s Office, the same area where they went to open a locker during the Serum step of the main quest. By interacting with the safe, players can collect their free perk, which will be a random beverage that they do not already have. If players already have a full lineup of perks, they can return here to claim the item after they go down and lose some of their special buffs. Dedicated fans can also grab a piece of Zombies intel<\/a> from this safe, making it a worthwhile adventure for any completionists to go on.<\/p>\n
