The games started in Japan, spreading like wildfire in North America soon after. Pok\u00e9mon<\/em> craze is something that may never go away. While new games like\u00a0Pok\u00e9mon Sword and Shield<\/em><\/a>\u00a0are breaking ground in narrative and combat design,<\/a> remakes are enhancing nostalgic classics.<\/p>\n

There have been several remakes, including\u00a0Fire Red, Leaf Green, Heart Gold, Soul Silver, Omega Ruby, and Alpha Sapphire.<\/em>\u00a0If the games release chronologically, we could see\u00a0Pok\u00e9mon Diamond<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Pearl<\/em>\u00a0remakes soon. In the meantime, let’s see which games deserve the remake treatment.<\/p>\n

10 <\/span>Pok\u00e9mon X And Y<\/h2>\n

Pok\u00e9mon<\/em> fever happens every time a game from the main series releases. With Pok\u00e9mon X and Y,<\/em><\/a>\u00a0it was\u00a0no exception. The two games are critically acclaimed for their unique map layout, the introduction of mega-evolutions,<\/a> and unique interactions with NPCs. Although it’s not the first in the main series line to receive a remake, bringing Pok\u00e9mon X and Y<\/em>\u00a0to the Nintendo Switch could kindle new spirits.<\/p>\n

9 <\/span>Pok\u00e9mon Stadium 2<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

The sequel to the first Pok\u00e9mon Stadium<\/em> came\u00a0back with the ability to upload Pok\u00e9mon from the second generation<\/a> of Pok\u00e9mon<\/em> (Pok\u00e9mon Gold, Silver, and Crystal<\/em>). It returned with new mini-games, which\u00a0was\u00a0one of the game’s biggest drawing points.<\/p>\n

Years after its release, Pok\u00e9mon Stadium 2<\/em> deserves a remake or a sequel. The idea of being able to play handheld games on a television screen is enticing. Plus, storming your way through the Gym Leader Castle is too memorable.<\/p>\n

8 <\/span>Pok\u00e9mon Ranger<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Although\u00a0Pok\u00e9mon Ranger<\/em>\u00a0is a role-playing game,<\/a> it follows a different format than the\u00a0Pok\u00e9mon<\/em>\u00a0main series. It’s a mission-based game with ten main missions and three sub-missions.\u00a0Pok\u00e9mon Ranger<\/em>\u00a0wasn’t as successful as the main series, but it did receive generally positive reviews from critics. It takes a while to adapt to its combat system, yet\u00a0Pok\u00e9mon Ranger<\/em>\u00a0successfully appeals to a younger demographic with masterclass role-playing elements. The graphics are dated, but a remake from the ground-up could aim to fix its shortcomings.<\/p>\n

7 <\/span>Hey You, Pikachu!<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

The virtual pet game\u00a0Hey You, Pikachu!\u00a0<\/em>accomplished what few other games have attempted. The game uses the Nintendo 64’s Voice Recognition Unit (VRU), which allows you to communicate with Pikachu using 256 words.\u00a0Hey You, Pikachu!\u00a0<\/em>was ahead of its time, but it’s hard to ignore the ingenuity behind the game.<\/p>\n

Interestingly enough, there was a time when Clefairy, not Pikachu, was going to be the mascot of Pok\u00e9mon.\u00a0Hey You, Pikachu!<\/em>\u00a0might not have existed if Clefairy assumed the role. Thankfully, Pikachu was made the mascot,<\/a> and games like\u00a0Hey You, Pikachu!<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0Detective Pikachu<\/em>\u00a0exist.<\/p>\n

6 <\/span>Pok\u00e9mon Snap<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Pok\u00e9mon Snap<\/em> has a sequel coming to the Nintendo Switch\u2014but why stop there? The original Pok\u00e9mon Snap<\/em> is a Nintendo 64 gem with gameplay, unlike any other game. The Pok\u00e9mon Company remade the first generation of\u00a0Pok\u00e9mon<\/em>\u00a0twice, but they have yet to remake the series’ lesser-known games.\u00a0New Pokemon Snap<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>for Nintendo Switch will undoubtedly rekindle old memories. A renewed interest could lead to a Pok\u00e9mon Snap<\/em> remake.<\/p>\n

5 <\/span>Pok\u00e9mon Colosseum<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

While Pok\u00e9mon Stadium 2<\/em> didn’t have a direct sequel, Pok\u00e9mon Colosseum<\/em> was the closest to being one. This new Pok\u00e9mon<\/em> game was a 3D adventure like never seen before.<\/p>\n

The lethargically slow battles kept Pok\u00e9mon Colosseum<\/em> from reaching its potential. On paper, the game looked phenomenal, but the execution was lacking.\u00a0Pok\u00e9mon Colosseum\u00a0<\/em>was a bit too linear and could’ve included more Pok\u00e9mon. A remake could fix all these things and more.<\/p>\n

4 <\/span>Pok\u00e9mon XD: Gale Of Darkness<\/h2>\n

If\u00a0Pok\u00e9mon Colosseum<\/em>\u00a0deserves a remake, then so does\u00a0Pok\u00e9mon XD: Gale of Darkness.<\/em>\u00a0The two games are very similar, aside from there being more Pok\u00e9mon and an easier\u00a0difficulty level in\u00a0Pok\u00e9mon XD: Gale of Darkness<\/em>.\u00a0Pok\u00e9mon XD: Gale of Darkness<\/em>\u00a0is undoubtedly the easier of the bunch, which might appeal to casual gamers. Hardcore Pok\u00e9 fans might disagree. Whether you prefer Colosseum<\/em> or Gale of Darkness<\/em>, a remake is suited for these games.<\/p>\n

3 <\/span>Pok\u00e9mon Black And White<\/h2>\n

It might be a long way down the road (if ever) that a Pok\u00e9mon Black and White<\/em> remake releases. This generation took the world by surprise with an immersive world, unlike other previous games. It soon became one of the best-selling games on the Nintendo DS.<\/a> If the Pok\u00e9mon Company creates Pok\u00e9mon<\/em> remakes in chronological order, Pok\u00e9mon Black and White<\/em> remakes could be sooner than later.<\/p>\n

Using a Transfer Pak, players could connect their Game Boy\u00a0Pok\u00e9mon<\/em>\u00a0game to play on television.\u00a0Whether you liked the game for its mini-games, event battles, or the Gym Leader Tower, there is an abundance of content to be found. A remake could enhance\u00a0Pok\u00e9mon Stadium<\/em>\u00a0further.<\/p>\n

It’s long been\u00a0rumored that Pok\u00e9mon <\/em><\/a>Diamond and Pearl<\/em> are the next Pok\u00e9mon<\/em> remakes.<\/a>\u00a0This generation introduced the crime syndicate Team Galactic, a group known for heinous acts in the Sinnoh region. It follows a traditional\u00a0path where players beat the game by defeating the Elite Four. Pok\u00e9mon<\/em>\u00a0Diamond and Pearl<\/em> pay homage to the originals while introducing a bulk of new content. As the fourth generation of the Pok\u00e9mon<\/em> main series, long-awaited remakes could be shortly down the road.<\/p>\n
