This article contains spoilers for WandaVision<\/em> episode 5.<\/strong><\/p>\n

WandaVision<\/em><\/strong><\/a> is just a little over halfway through and it\u2019s already given Marvel fans one of – if not the best- surprise appearances ever seen in the MCU<\/a>. That it did so in a perfect sitcom manner plays well with WandaVision\u2019s<\/em> plot, but it wasn\u2019t always like that.<\/p>\n

As Marvel chief Kevin Fiege has explained in the past, everything that goes on in MCU is planned several years ahead, so resurrecting Pietro Maximoff was a bit of a stretch when Aaron Taylor-John had been gunned down in Avengers: Age of Ultron<\/em>. However, when Disney gifted Marvel Studios producers with the silver platter of X-Men<\/em> intellectual property that came along with its acquisition of 20th Century Fox, the opportunity was simply too big to pass on.<\/p>\n

This was something WandaVision<\/em> showrunner Jac Schaeffer touched upon\u00a0during an interview with\u00a0Marvel.com, as she confesses everyone loved the idea yet they were blank as to how exactly they were going to make some sense out of it. Per Schaeffer\u2019s own take, anyone can come up with a bunch of ideas, but making them \u201cfeel organic to the larger story\u201d is an entirely different task.<\/p>\n

Luckily,\u00a0WandaVision\u2019s<\/em> own whimsical plot<\/a> presented the perfect opportunity to bring in Evan Peters, especially when the showrunner already had an idea in mind for using the classic \u201csitcom trope\u201d of having a visiting family member completely change the dynamics around the house. Of course, this was aided in large part due to Evans\u2019 fascination with the idea, as the actor always made himself available to reprise the role.<\/p>\n

Despite Schaeffer\u2019s excitement, fans are still completely shocked by Quicksilver\u2019s family visit to his sister out of the blue and there\u2019s really no telling of how long Peters is gonna stick around in Westview, or even if he\u2019ll somehow make it into the real world. If one is to take Schaeffer\u2019s word for it, the only requirement Feige imposed was that it all somehow makes sense in the end, which appears to be the case\u00a0judging by Kat Dennings\u2019 reaction<\/a>.<\/p>\n

There are still four episodes left until WandaVision<\/em> wraps up and fans of Quicksilver’s humor and antics can only hope Peters\u2019 Pietro will at least stay the night for\u00a0two more of those entries. After all, he still needs to meet his new nephews<\/a> and his popsicle of a brother-in-law, Vision.<\/p>\n
