To celebrate, some select McDonald&#8217;s locations participating in the celebration are giving out Pikachu-themed Happy Meals with 25th-anniversary trading card booster packs inside. There are a total of <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/mcdonalds-pokemon-cards-2021-list\/\">50\u00a0<em>Pokemon\u00a0<\/em>trading cards to collect<\/a>, including all starter Pokemon from\u00a0<em>Pokemon Red\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Blue\u00a0<\/em>all the way to the most recent generation,\u00a0<em>Pokemon Sword\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Shield<\/em>. The other 25 cards are the shiny versions. But like all\u00a0<em>Pokemon\u00a0<\/em>trading card packs, the cards are entirely random, but it sparks the joy many older\u00a0Pokefans felt when pulling cards at younger ages.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/new-pokemon-suit-starter-pokemon\/\">New Pokemon Suit Celebrates Starter Pokemon<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Many more casual fans seemingly didn&#8217;t realize\u00a02021 is\u00a0<em>Pokemon<\/em>&#8216;s 25th anniversary until McDonald&#8217;s began the Happy Meal promo. It was only recently that The Pokemon Company announced some upcoming events and merchandise to celebrate, but fans are widely enjoying the celebration thanks to the collaboration with McDonald&#8217;s. Others are reminiscing the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/mcdonalds-pokemon-card-promotion-new-old-burger-king\/\"><em>Pokemon<\/em>-themed Happy Meals<\/a> from back in the 90s.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/stacyc435\/status\/1359340610948395011\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The\u00a0<em>Pokemon\u00a0<\/em>cards in the 25th-anniversary packs will be notated by The Pokemon Company&#8217;s 25th-anniversary logo in the bottom-right corner of the image; similar to past anniversary logos, Pikachu&#8217;s cheeks are stylized to look like a &#8220;2&#8221; and &#8220;5.&#8221; Because there are 50 of these special anniversary cards in total,\u00a0and because many McDonald&#8217;s stores have still not capped how many of these themed Happy Meals fans can order, it&#8217;s resulted in a <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/mcdonalds-pokemon-cards-ebay-scalpers\/\">number of greedy <em>Pokemon\u00a0<\/em>fans and scalpers<\/a> taking home all of the loot.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/soapfloam\/status\/1359567358952689671\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>So while some\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-fan-impressive-misty-cosplay-togepi\/\"><em>Pokemon\u00a0<\/em>fans are posting their love<\/a>\u00a0for the\u00a0trading card packs to Twitter, others are using the platform to warn others of resold packs.
