After a delay last year,\u00a0Control: Ultimate Edition\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>launched its next-generation upgrade earlier this month, with the bundle joining\u00a0PlayStation Plus’ monthly lineup of free games and dropping at retail price on the Xbox Series X<\/a>. Shortly after its release, Xbox players began reporting a number of issues with the Series X port, claiming it was crashing frequently and was in need of some stability improvements.<\/p>\n

Earlier this week, 505 Games Support told a fan on Twitter that a fix to the Control: Ultimate Edition<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>issue was in the works, stating “We are aware of stability issues that Series X and PCGP players are experiencing and are looking into them.” According to the publisher’s support team, “we are seeing them in both performance and graphics modes in retail environments,” promising that it will let fans know when there’s an update on the issue.<\/p>\n

Players experiencing issues reported\u00a0they’d received\u00a0a\u00a0large number of\u00a0crashes to the Xbox home screen during play, with the Twitter user who 505 responded to, Matias Ali, claiming they’d\u00a0been hit with\u00a06 to 7 crashes\u00a0during their 6 hours with the title. According to Ali, reinstalling the game\u00a0didn’t alleviate the crashing issues.\u00a0505 later provided a rough ETA regarding when players might see the patch, claiming that it was aiming to have it finished and sent out\u00a0by the end of the week. In the meantime, it’s also set up a place for players to report issues with the game, which can be found over on 505 Games<\/a> Support’s Twitter.<\/p>\n
