The event won&#8217;t\u00a0reveal any new games, but instead will discuss more about the technology used to power them.<\/p>\n<p>The research summit, which will be held over two days on\u00a0February 23\u00a0and\u00a024, looks to cover a range of topics,\u00a0focusing\u00a0on how AI and &#8220;machine learning&#8221; are changing what it means to play video games. Those interested can register for a virtual seat, allowing them to sit in on\u00a0Microsoft&#8217;s broadcast and hear from its roster of distinguished guest speakers.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/xbox-series-x-ps5-switch-uk-sales-january-2021\/\">Xbox Series X Beat PS5 and Switch in UK Hardware Sales for January 2021<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Microsoft has even offered a look at the themes that will be discussed during the summit, which include &#8220;AI Agents for gameplay and game testing,&#8221; &#8220;Responsible Gaming, including ethics, safety, and inclusivity,&#8221; &#8220;Computational creativity and content generation,&#8221; and &#8220;Understanding Players, player engagement and analytics.&#8221; The main speakers at the showcase hail from a variety of different backgrounds, with the most notable likely being Head of Xbox, <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/phil-spencer-teases-long-term-xbox-plans\/\">Phil Spencer<\/a>. Others include\u00a0Game Intelligence Lead at Microsoft Research, Katja Hofmann, and\u00a0Corporate Vice President of Microsoft&#8217;s Cloud Gaming division, Kareem Choudhry.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/MSFTResearch\/status\/1359914705309978631\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Both days begin at 8:30 AM PT and conclude at 1:15 PM, and will include a number of AI-focused talks as well as a 45-minute fireside chat to close out the summit. It seems seats for the showcase will be available until February 19, at which time they will be made unavailable, so those intrigued by the concept of a two day delve into the world of <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/electronic-arts-patent-player-data-train-ai\/\">video game AI<\/a> should register ASAP. It&#8217;s sure to have some thought-provoking insights from some of the industry&#8217;s most\u00a0respected names.<\/p>\n<p>Microsoft is currently positioning itself to have some big years ahead, with the release of the Xbox Series X and the upcoming acquisition of Bethesda sure to result in some huge news for the company&#8217;s playerbase. As for more immediate plans, it&#8217;s\u00a0currently primed to bolster\u00a0its lineup of system-selling exclusives throughout 2021, with games like\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/microsoft-flight-simulator-uk-update-delay\/\">Microsoft Flight Simulator<\/a>, The Gunk, Five Minutes,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Warhammer Darktide\u00a0<\/em>all releasing on Xbox Series X.<\/p>\n<p>However, its\u00a0biggest project is without question\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/halo-infinite-monthly-update-january-2021\/\">Halo Infinite<\/a>,\u00a0<\/em>which is slated to drop this fall.
