Of all the highly anticipated titles releasing this year,\u00a0Resident Evil\u00a0Village\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>is one that many in the gaming community are very excited for. Following up the large amount of success that\u00a0Resident Evil 7\u00a0<\/em>garnered when it first released,\u00a0Resident Evil Village<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>looks to carry over a lot of the things that players loved about the previous game, while implementing some elements previously featured in older entries. From the sound of things, the team over at Capcom seems pretty confident in their work.<\/p>\n

When it first launched,\u00a0Resident Evil 7<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>was met with a massive amount of success by many in the gaming community. It managed to revitalize the series’ popularity to the point where remakes of older titles are getting almost consistently released and numerous\u00a0Resident Evil-<\/em>related projects have been greenlit on Netflix. Though, according to one Capcom producer, the eighth entry in the mainline series will reach massive new heights.<\/p>\n

In a recent interview published by PlayStation Official Magazine, one of the producers at Capcom<\/a>, Peter Fabiano, discussed various details about the game and spoke very highly of what is being worked on. In fact, Fabiano even mentions that\u00a0Resident Evil\u00a0Village\u00a0<\/em>will be “the best survival horror game to date.” Compared to all of the other fantastic survival horror games already released,\u00a0Resident Evil\u00a0<\/em>or otherwise, it will certainly be interesting to see how\u00a0Resident Evil\u00a0Village <\/em>squares up.<\/p>\n

In addition, Fabiano also commented on various other facets regarding the story and characters of the game. Obviously, he didn’t want to spoil any story details, but he did confirm that Lady Dimitrescu<\/a> and everything else presented in the game ties into the overarching narrative and lore that\u00a0Resident Evil\u00a0<\/em>has built across a multitude of games.<\/p>\n

Although, it does seem somewhat hard to believe that anything presented in any of the promotional material for this game relates to the overarching plot of\u00a0Resident Evil<\/em>. Then again, that was also the case for\u00a0Resident Evil 7\u00a0<\/em>and since this is the continuation of Ethan Winters’ story, it seems likely that it will all tie in together somehow. Though, so far, the presence of Chris Redfield<\/a> is one of the only links to the\u00a0Resident Evil\u00a0<\/em>lore.<\/p>\n

In any case, it will be interesting to see how things play out when the game is finally released in May. This game isn’t the only piece of\u00a0Resident Evil\u00a0<\/em>media for fans to look forward to. In addition to all the Netflix projects, there’s also the upcoming film reboot, and the rumored remake of Resident Evil 4<\/em><\/a>. It seems now is probably the best time to be a\u00a0Resident Evil\u00a0<\/em>fan.<\/p>\n

Resident Evil Village<\/strong><\/em> is set to launch May 7 for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X\/S.<\/p>\n
