Without a doubt, The\u00a0Legend of Zelda<\/strong><\/em>\u00a0has become one of the most iconic video game franchises of all time. Ever since the release of the first game in 1986, The Legend of Zelda<\/em><\/a> has produced numerous games primarily revolving around Link and Princess Zelda’s various incarnations. Of course, given that The Legend of Zelda<\/em> franchise is exclusive to Nintendo, the RPG series is oftentimes the reason why players pick up a Nintendo console.<\/p>\n

When the Nintendo Switch released back in 2017, the company made a smart move by releasing The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild<\/em> as one of the hybrid console’s launch games. This resulted in the Switch having a highly successful launch<\/a>, given that it attracted both veteran players of The Legend of Zelda<\/em> franchise as well as series newcomers. As the Switch continues to make strides in console gaming, here are all The Legend of Zelda<\/em> games currently available on the Switch, and a list of titles that are rumored to release on the hybrid console as well.<\/p>\n

The\u00a0Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild<\/em>\u00a0remains one of the most popular games on the Switch right now. Despite releasing nearly four years ago alongside the Switch console’s launch, Breath of the Wild<\/em> continues to captivate veterans and newcomers to Zelda<\/em><\/a>\u00a0thanks to its open-world and its unique approach to a Zelda<\/em> game. Currently, fans are still waiting for more news and the release of Breath of the Wild 2<\/em>, which Nintendo already announced back at E3 2019.<\/p>\n

Other Zelda<\/em> games that are now available on the Switch include Hyrule Warriors,<\/em> a hack and slash adventure game that dumps the intense puzzles of core Zelda<\/em> games in favor of more action-packed gameplay. In that similar vein,\u00a0Hyrule Warriors: Age of Calamity,<\/em>\u00a0is another hack and slash game that serves as a prequel to\u00a0Breath of the Wild.<\/em><\/p>\n

At the moment, Nintendo still hasn’t announced anything. However, several days ago, a rumor surfaced online about the possibility of a remaster of The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

This rumor started after several fans discovered Nintendo filing a mysterious new trademark for Phantom Hourglas<\/em>s in Australia. It is still unknown what Nintendo plans to do with this new trademark. But, insiders\u00a0theorize that\u00a0the company\u00a0could\u00a0release a remaster of Phantom Hourglass<\/em>\u00a0to celebrate the franchise’s 35th anniversary.<\/p>\n

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time – <\/em>There are also rumors of Nintendo remastering The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time<\/em><\/a>, one of the most popular entries in the franchise. Like Phantom Hourglass<\/em>, this rumor stemmed from Nintendo renewing\u00a0Ocarina of Time’s trademark<\/em>\u00a0in Australia and Europe back in 2020. Unfortunately, it’s been almost a year since Nintendo renewed the game’s trademark, and the company hasn’t made any comment regarding the rumor. However, players hoping to see a remaster of this classic game shouldn’t lose hope, given that Nintendo may be holding off any announcement until the 35th anniversary of The Legend of Zelda<\/em>, which falls on February 21, 2021.<\/p>\n
