It looks like Xbox Series X<\/strong>\u00a0owners should be getting excited for big updates coming to the platform this year. In an official Xbox<\/a> podcast, top developers give some insight into the various changes coming for players this year.<\/p>\n

Toward the end of 2020, a new generation of Microsoft’s flagship console released to the public. The\u00a0devices have taken the world by storm, with Xbox Series X\/S stock shortages continuing<\/a> in 2021. After launch, the team took some time off to absorb feedback from the community, and now it sounds like the group behind Xbox is preparing for some major updates.<\/p>\n

Jason Ronald, the Director of Program Management at Microsoft, describes how there will be more announcements in the coming months. The\u00a0reviews for Xbox Series X\/S have been positive<\/a>, and apparently it is just the beginning. Director of Programming Larry Hryb, also known as Major Nelson, mentions they cannot say too much at the moment. However, he does\u00a0say\u00a0Ronald will be back on the podcast sooner rather than later.<\/p>\n

One of the main changes coming down the pipeline has to do with adding features to the Xbox Mobile app<\/a>. Some of the improvements have to do with achievement tracking, broadcasting updates, and DVR quality enhancements. For console users, another noted update will be with the Quick Resume feature. Despite touting the mechanic as a benefit for Xbox Series X\/S, some games had to have it disabled. Therefore, the team wants to focus on getting it functional for all titles to create a smooth experience for players.<\/p>\n

Though specific details are scarce, it does seem like the Xbox team is preparing for a busy year by making changes to both peripheral and console features that should cover all the bases for those looking to get into the platform.
