A Star Wars <\/em>fan has uploaded\u00a0a re-edited version of Luke Skywalker’s now-famous cameo from the season 2 finale of T<\/em><\/strong>he <\/em><\/strong>Mandalorian<\/em><\/strong><\/a>. The scene is relatively the same (although you\u2019ll have to skip to the 30-second mark due to a copyright claim) apart from one key change: the score. Instead of The Mandalorian\u2019s<\/em> original score, we hear what\u2019s often referred to as “Luke Skywalker\u2019s theme” from legendary Star Wars<\/em> composer John Williams.<\/p>\n

The music used\u00a0in the video is a recent rendition of the famous piece of John Williams score called\u00a0Binary Sunset<\/em>. Audiences first heard this theme way back in 1977 during the original Star Wars<\/em><\/a>, in a scene where Luke Skywalker looks out onto the horizon from his home on Tatooine, gazing towards\u00a0the twin sunsets in the distance. It\u2019s a moment of longing and inspiration that\u2019s impossible to watch without getting goosebumps. It will live on as quite possibly one of the most famous scenes in film history.<\/p>\n

At the end of the season 2 finale of the Mandalorian<\/em>, which is appropriately titled “The Rescue,”\u00a0the titular bounty hunter, Din Djarin, attempts to rescue the force-sensitive child he\u2019s come to bond with over the last two seasons. Things seem to be going well until the infamous Dark Troopers arrive, cornering Mando and his crew on the ship’s bridge. When all hope is lost, a single X-wing arrives and we\u2019re treated to a green lightsaber-wielding Jedi Master<\/a>\u00a0who\u00a0cuts down the remaining Dark Troopers with ease and precision. This mystery Jedi turns out to be none other than Luke Skywalker,\u00a0who arrives to take little Grogu away to be trained in the ways of the Jedi. It\u2019s a heroic moment, but also kind of\u00a0tragic, as Mando will now have\u00a0to say goodbye to his little green friend.<\/p>\n
