Star Wars<\/strong><\/em><\/a> toy manufacturer Hasbro has reportedly canceled the\u00a0Cara Dune action figure after Mandalorian<\/em><\/strong> actress Gina Carano was fired from the Disney + series<\/a>.\u00a0Last week a Lucasfilm spokesperson confirmed that Carano would not be returning to the Galaxy Far, Far away due to her “abhorrent and unacceptable” social media posts. Gina Carano had come under fire after comparing being a Republican\u00a0in the modern day to being Jewish during the Holocaust, which led\u00a0to the hashtag #FireGinaCarano\u00a0on Twitter. Although that post seems to have been the nail in the coffin, Carano\u00a0had\u00a0also\u00a0previously stirred up controversy by posting anti-mask and election fraud sentiments and joking about pronoun usage.<\/p>\n

On Friday a\u00a0Twitter user<\/a> posted a screenshot of a statement from\u00a0retailer Big Bad Toy Store that reads:\u00a0\u201cWe have been informed by Hasbro that they have canceled production of the Star Wars: The Black Series 6\u201d Cara Dune (The Mandalorian) and will not be fulfilling our order. Unfortunately, this means we must cancel our pre-orders for this item. We apologize for the inconvenience and greatly appreciate your understanding.\u201d<\/p>\n

On the first two seasons of The Mandalorian<\/em><\/a> Carano played Cara Dune, a former rebel shock trooper turned mercenary from the famously blown up\u00a0planet of Alderan. During\u00a0Disney\u2019s 2020 investor call, one of the many shows announced was a Mandalorian<\/em> spin-off called Star Wars: Rangers of the New Republic<\/em>, which was rumored to\u00a0have potentially featured\u00a0Cara Dune<\/a>. It now seems that Disney and Lucasfilm are wiping the slate clean and further distancing themselves from the controversial MMA fighter turned actress.\u00a0Carano made her acting debut in 2011 with the Steven Soderbergh directed action movie Haywire<\/em>. She also appeared in the first Deadpool<\/em> movie<\/a> as the villain Angel Dust, and the sixth film in the Fast & the Furious<\/em> franchise.<\/p>\n

Carano’s firing has stirred up its own controversy, with some bemoaning Disney and Lucasfilm and claiming that Carano\u00a0herself is being ‘canceled’ by a progressive mob. This included many vocal conservatives and right-wing pundits, including\u00a0Senator\u00a0Ted Cruz. In the wake of her firing, Carano has inked a deal with conservative media pundit Ben Shapiro to star in an upcoming feature film produced by his\u00a0company\u00a0The Daily Wire<\/em>. While many on the right are pointing to ‘cancel culture’ as a reason for Carano’s firing, others seem to believe the actress has simply faced\u00a0consequences for her actions<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The first two seasons of The Mandalorian<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0are streaming on Disney Plus.<\/p>\n
