It appears that one such impactful bug is plaguing\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/ps5-custom-xenomorph-console-case\/\">PS5 owners<\/a> that try to uninstall and reinstall\u00a0<strong><em>Call of Duty: Modern Warfare\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>at the moment, with the issue so severe that it&#8217;s even blocking the game from working entirely, according to some players.<\/p>\n<p>A post by u\/puzzled-soup is making the rounds on Reddit right now, with the user shedding some light on an apparently <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-game-breaking-bug-december-2020\/\">severe\u00a0<em>Call of Duty: Modern Warfare\u00a0<\/em>bug<\/a>. According to the user, trying to reinstall\u00a0<em>Modern Warfare\u00a0<\/em>onto a PS5 without manually uninstalling all of the game&#8217;s data packs, which are necessary for each of <em>Modern Warfare&#8217;<\/em>s modes, will cause the install to break completely, making it unplayable.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-duty-modern-warfare-activision-accusation-lawsuit-character-design-copying\/\">Lawsuit Accuses Activision of Copying Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Character Design<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Upon investigating the issue, players may find that the complete install is nearly 100 GB less than what it should be, with puzzled-soup stating that their install was only 93 GB despite it originally pushing 200 GB. The user has tried a number of methods to get the game to work, all to no avail. The only workaround is reportedly to download the game onto an SSD from a PS4, then play it on the PS5 from the SSD.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/PS5\/comments\/lkgp0y\/if_you_delete_modern_warfare_2019_from_the_ps5\/\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>In the comments on the post, other users have chimed in, claiming to have experienced the issues themselves. Only one user has offered a different workaround, stating that completely resetting the PS5 and reinstalling <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/call-of-duty-modern-warfare\/\"><em>Call of Duty:<\/em>\u00a0<em>Modern Warfare<\/em><\/a>,\u00a0should help, but no users have reported success with the method quite yet. Plus, resetting the PS5, reinstalling all of\u00a0<em>Modern Warfare,\u00a0<\/em>and reinstalling any other games that happened to be on the system is a massive time sink.<\/p>\n<p>It&#8217;s unfortunate that users are experiencing such a major issue.\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-of-duty-modern-warfare-invisible-glitch-ghost-skin\/\"><em>Call of Duty: Modern Warfare\u00a0<\/em>has had invisibility bugs<\/a>, hackers, and a plethora of other issues, but the game being rendered completely unplayable certainly tops the list of problems.<\/p>\n<p>With any luck, Activision and Infinity Ward will have a solution to the problem soon, though puzzled-soup says that Activision Support has been unable to help thus far. It&#8217;s not entirely clear where the issue is with the uninstallation process, but given how small the PS5&#8217;s storage space is and how much room\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/call-of-duty-modern-reduce-storage-install-size\/\"><em>Call of Duty: Modern Warfare\u00a0<\/em>takes up<\/a>, it&#8217;s fair to say a number of players will be disappointed if they try to reinstall the game without taking the proper steps before uninstalling.<\/p>\n<p><strong><em>Call of Duty: Modern Warfare\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
