Nintendo has made dozens upon dozens of games featuring their iconic superstar and mascot throughout the years. With the Switch being out since 2017, there are a lot of\u00a0Mario<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>titles available to fans, no matter what type of game they are looking for.<\/p>\n

Not only are there brand new installments of the franchises Mario has appeared in, such as\u00a0Mario Party\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Paper Mario<\/em>, but there are also older classics that have been ported to the console, like\u00a0Super Mario 64\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Mario Bros.\u00a0<\/em>Here are all of the games starring Mario that have been released on the Switch.<\/p>\n

15 <\/span>Super Mario Odyssey<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Super Mario Odyssey\u00a0<\/em>is not only one of the best games on the Switch, but one of the best that Nintendo has ever made. In this 3D platformer,\u00a0Mario teams up with Cappy<\/a> to travel around kingdoms and\u00a0stop Bowser from forcing<\/a> Princess Peach to marry him. With hundreds of Power Moons to collect, there are many things for players to do in this great title.<\/p>\n

14 <\/span>Super Mario 3D All-Stars<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

What is better than one 3D platformer? Three of them!\u00a0Super Mario 3D All-Stars\u00a0<\/em>consists of three of the best\u00a0Super Mario\u00a0<\/em>games, including\u00a0Super Mario 64<\/em>,\u00a0Super Mario Sunshine<\/em>, and\u00a0Super Mario Galaxy<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Players can explore the levels inside of the paintings at Peach’s castle<\/a>, Isle Delfino, and planets around the galaxy. With many power-ups and bosses, these three titles show how far the series has come in the past few decades.<\/p>\n

13 <\/span>Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

The newest game on this list is\u00a0Super Mario 3D World + Bowser’s Fury<\/em>.\u00a0Super Mario 3D World\u00a0<\/em>was one of the most successful games on the Wii U and fans have been wanting the game to come to the Switch for years.<\/p>\n

Joined with\u00a0Bowser’s Fury<\/em>, a brand new experience where players\u00a0team up with Bowser Jr.<\/a> in the biggest course the franchise has ever had, this is a great installment that shows what could be next for the series.<\/p>\n

12 <\/span>Super Mario Maker 2<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

As good as Nintendo is at making\u00a0Mario\u00a0<\/em>games, some fans are even better.\u00a0After the success of\u00a0Super Mario Maker\u00a0<\/em>on the Wii U and 3DS, a sequel was released for the Switch. New features and modes give players a lot more to do<\/a>, and whether they would prefer to play a level or make one, the fun never ends. Play thousands of levels designed by others in what is arguably the best 2D platformer on the console.<\/p>\n

11 <\/span>Super Mario Bros. 35<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Few people would ever expect there to be a battle royale\u00a0Mario\u00a0<\/em>game, but there is (or was depending on when you’re reading this).<\/p>\n

Super Mario Bros. 35\u00a0<\/em>was made for the 35th anniversary of\u00a0Super Mario Bros. <\/em>In the game,\u00a0players race through levels from the original platformer against 35 other people, until only one person remains. Unfortunately, the game will only be\/was available until March 31st, 2021.<\/p>\n

10 <\/span>Arcade Archives VS SUPER MARIO BROS.<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

The original\u00a0Super Mario Bros.\u00a0<\/em>is one of the most impactful video games ever made. Who knows where the industry would be without the 1985 platformer? However, not a lot of people know that there are multiple versions of the game.<\/p>\n

VS SUPER MARIO BROS.\u00a0<\/em>was released in 1986 for the Nintendo VS. SYSTEM, and it was ported to the Switch in 2017. This version of the game had quite a few differences from the original, such as the inclusion of\u00a0difficulty options\u00a0and the addition of new levels.<\/p>\n

9 <\/span>Arcade Archives Mario Bros.<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Like\u00a0VS SUPER MARIO BROS.<\/em>, this classic was also ported to the Switch. Unlike its successor and many other games in the series,\u00a0Mario Bros.\u00a0<\/em>is quite different. Rather than running through levels in the Mushroom Kingdom, Mario and Luigi fight enemies inside of a sewer.<\/p>\n

Though this title may be unique, it did introduce some of the earliest mechanics and items in the series, making it very important for the franchise’s history. Features similar to those that were added to\u00a0VS SUPER MARIO BROS<\/em>. were also included in this game.<\/p>\n

8 <\/span>New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

For every Nintendo system since the DS, a new entry in the\u00a0New Super Mario Bros.\u00a0<\/em>series has been released.\u00a0New Super Mario Bros. U<\/em> came out in 2012, along with the Wii U. One year later,\u00a0New Super Luigi U\u00a0<\/em>released during the Year of Luigi, a period when Nintendo gave a lot of love to the underappreciated Mario brother.<\/p>\n

These two games have since been brought to the Switch, though they have gone through a few changes since their initial releases. These changes involved the game’s playable characters and modes.<\/p>\n

7 <\/span>Mario Kart 8 Deluxe<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

The\u00a0bestselling game on the Switch<\/a> is\u00a0Mario Kart 8 Deluxe<\/em>. The game originally released on the Wii U but was ported onto the Switch along with the original’s DLC.<\/p>\n

What makes this installment different than other\u00a0Mario Kart\u00a0<\/em>games is that players can hold two items at the same time, there are a lot more courses than most of the other games, and characters from other Nintendo franchises can join in the fun, such as Link, the inklings, and Isabelle.<\/p>\n

6 <\/span>Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Though fans are excited to get their hands on\u00a0Mario Kart 9<\/em>, there does not seem to be any sign that it is being developed. Luckily, there are a couple of other games in the series that have released since\u00a0Mario Kart 8<\/em>, with one of them also being on the Switch.\u00a0Mario Kart Live: Home Circuit\u00a0<\/em>allows fans to make courses in their homes.<\/p>\n

Included in the game is a remote control car with a camera, which players can control with their Switch. Four people can play together, making this especially fun for those that live with other gamers as they race around their house as if it were designed by Nintendo.<\/p>\n

5 <\/span>Mario Tennis Aces<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Mario and his friends have played many sports over the years, such as golf, basketball, and tennis. In\u00a0Mario Tennis Aces<\/em>, players can compete against each other in online matches.<\/p>\n

Nintendo also set up tournaments in which people were able to get new characters each month. Nowadays, tournaments reward costumes for existing characters, while all the characters are automatically unlocked. There is also a campaign for players to check out, giving them a lot to do.<\/p>\n

4 <\/span>Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games Tokyo 2020<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Friend or foe,\u00a0Mario and Sonic are two of the greatest rivals<\/a> in video game history. In 2007, Nintendo and Sega released\u00a0Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games<\/em>, which brought characters from both the\u00a0Super Mario\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Sonic the Hedgehog\u00a0<\/em>franchises together in a very unique way.<\/p>\n

Despite the concept of the game being so strange, a handful of sequels have been released since the original.\u00a0Mario & Sonic At The Olympic Games Tokyo 2020<\/em>\u00a0is the newest in the series and the only one available on the Switch.<\/p>\n

3 <\/span>Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

While Mario teaming up with Sonic is not that strange these days, nobody expected Nintendo’s superstar to join forces with the titular creatures in\u00a0Raving Rabbids<\/em>. Developed by Ubisoft, this game is a tactical RPG in which players control the Rabbids, along with Mario, Peach, Yoshi, and Luigi after their worlds collide.<\/p>\n

2 <\/span>Super Mario Party<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

The\u00a0Mario Party\u00a0<\/em>games are considered by many to be one of the best spin-offs in the franchise, though the most recent titles have diverged from earlier ones. In\u00a0Super Mario Party<\/em>, Nintendo focused mostly on minigames in which players would have to use the Joy-Cons, making it great for showing what these controllers are capable of but lacking in things that previous installments had, such as boards.<\/p>\n

Nevertheless, as with most games in the series, it is one of the best multiplayer titles to feature\u00a0Mario\u00a0<\/em>characters.<\/p>\n

1 <\/span>Paper Mario: The Origami King<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

In the newest release of the\u00a0Paper Mario\u00a0<\/em>series, King Olly, a new character made out of Origami, takes control of Peach’s Castle and many of the Mushroom Kingdom’s inhabitants. To stop him, Mario teams up with Olivia, Olly’s sister, and the two go on an adventure, fighting origami enemies and creative bosses.<\/p>\n

Throughout the game, the two heroes are also joined by other characters, such as Bobby the Bob-omb and Professor Toad. Unlike other titles in this series,\u00a0The Origami King\u00a0<\/em>is much more of a puzzle game than an RPG.<\/p>\n
