It’s been nearly two years since Nintendo hosted a proper Nintendo Direct presentation, but that hiatus will come to an end today. The next full-fledged Nintendo Direct presentation<\/a> is set to take place at 2pm PT later today, and at roughly 50 minutes long, it should be a rather exciting event for Nintendo enthusiasts. Nintendo is keeping most of its Nintendo Direct announcements secret for now, but it has confirmed that the event will feature\u00a0Super Smash Bros. Ultimate<\/strong><\/em>.<\/p>\n

Nintendo didn’t specify what it will be specifically showing in regards to\u00a0Super Smash Bros. Ultimate<\/em><\/a> during the Nintendo Direct presentation, but the general assumption is that it will reveal a new DLC hero for the game. After all, it’s been a couple of months since the\u00a0Sephiroth DLC was added, so now is about the time that Nintendo would announce a new character for the game. The next\u00a0Super Smash Bros. Ultimate<\/em> DLC fighter could be just about anybody, but an old leak may have already let the cat out of the bag.<\/p>\n

An old\u00a0Super Smash Bros. Ultimate<\/em> leak from May 2020 has accurately leaked numerous DLC fighters for the game. This includes Min-Min from\u00a0ARMS<\/em><\/a>, the aforementioned Sephiroth from\u00a0Final Fantasy 7<\/em>, and Steve from\u00a0Minecraft<\/em>. There are three DLC characters that have yet to be revealed for Fighters Pass Vol. 2, and considering how accurate this leak has been in the past, it wouldn’t\u00a0 be surprising if it were one of the other three characters it mentioned.<\/p>\n

The other characters mentioned in the leak are Ryu Hayabusa of\u00a0Ninja Gaiden<\/em> fame<\/a>, Doomguy from the\u00a0Doom<\/em> first-person shooter series, and Rayman from Ubisoft’s\u00a0Rayman<\/em> platforming games. Ryu and Doomguy have been rumored for\u00a0Super Smash Bros. Ultimate<\/em> since before the game even came out, so at this point, it wouldn’t be all that surprising to see them added to the roster. Rayman has also been rumored off and on throughout the years, though some reputable leakers have said that he isn’t in the works for the game.<\/p>\n

Luckily,\u00a0Super Smash Bros. Ultimate<\/em> fans don’t have to wait much longer to find out who the next DLC fighter is. As previously mentioned, the Nintendo Direct for February 2021, set to air at 2pm PT today, will likely announce the next\u00a0Super Smash Bros. Ultimate<\/em> DLC fighter<\/a>. It will be interesting to see if it’s one of these characters as leaked.<\/p>\n

And if the next\u00a0Super Smash Bros. Ultimate<\/em> DLC fighter is Ryu Hayabusa, Doomguy<\/a>, or Rayman, then the rest of the leak is even more validated, and it’s a safe bet that the remaining two DLC characters will be the other ones mentioned in the list.<\/p>\n

Super Smash Bros. Ultimate<\/strong><\/em> is out now, exclusively for the Nintendo Switch.<\/p>\n
