Today’s Nintendo Direct was packed full of announcements, and while not all of the announcements were in line with what the community wanted, it was a big day nonetheless. One of the biggest, however, was the reveal of\u00a0Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD<\/strong>\u00a0<\/em>for the Switch, which just so happens to be bringing a stylish new set of Joy-Cons along with it, complimenting the port with a unique look.<\/p>\n

Announced as part of the\u00a0Skyward Sword HD\u00a0<\/em>reveal<\/a>, the new Joy-Cons are themed after the game, with the right hand Joy-Con boasting a Master Sword theme, and the left hand Joy-Con meant\u00a0to take influence from the Hylian Shield. Put together, the set does look pretty sharp, and certainly stands as one of the most detailed Joy-Con sets available directly through Nintendo.<\/p>\n

Nintendo has made a point of releasing Joy-Cons in a variety of colors<\/a>, offering fans a number of ways to customize their console and controllers. For the most part, a lot of these are as simple as recoloring the left and right Joy-Cons, but in some instances, fans get unique designs. Besides the\u00a0Skyward Sword\u00a0<\/em>Joy-Cons, Nintendo has also released\u00a0Animal Crossing<\/em> and\u00a0Mario-<\/em>themed controllers for the Switch.<\/p>\n

For many,\u00a0The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword\u00a0<\/em>wasn’t the first choice Switch port for the franchise, with many preferring Ocarina of Time\u00a0<\/em>or one of the other big entries,\u00a0but the Joy-Cons can fit with practically every game in the franchise, so they’re a good fit for fans of\u00a0Legend of Zelda<\/em><\/a>\u00a0regardless of their favorite entry. With any luck, Nintendo will also release a set of Joy-Cons for the next entries in the series.<\/p>\n

With the Nintendo Direct now behind fans, Switch owners know what to look forward to for the foreseeable future. There are likely a few hidden surprises sprinkled in there, and it’s a mystery as to when\u00a0Breath of the Wild 2<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>will release, but Nintendo does have some heavy-hitting games coming out in the next year or two.<\/p>\n

In the meantime, fans at least have small things like the Skyward Sword<\/em> Joy-Cons to look forward to. Luckily, the smaller announcements were supported by some big ones too, like\u00a0Splatoon 3.\u00a0<\/em>The Nintendo Switch has been on a hot streak lately in terms of sales, and it’s clear that Nintendo is trying to extend that streak for as long as it can with new games, big and small.<\/p>\n

The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword HD\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>is in development for Switch.<\/p>\n
