As\u00a0these presentations eventually shifted to a livestream format over the years, content creators on YouTube and Twitch have made a habit of streaming their live reactions to the videos, and one content creator most known for such\u00a0reactions was the late Desmond &#8220;Etika&#8221; Amofah.<\/p>\n<p>Being a YouTube veteran, Etika focused on creating a variety of content over the years, from rap battles to\u00a0<em>Pokemon<\/em> battle commentary, to focusing on video game news, and finally, becoming most known for eccentric reaction videos. And although\u00a0Etika <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/etika-dead-body-found\/\">passed away in the summer of 2019,<\/a> the popular YouTuber lives on in the hearts of many, with fans remembering him whenever\u00a0a\u00a0Nintendo Direct presentation or <em>Super Smash Bros.<\/em> news\u00a0comes around, and after\u00a0yesterday&#8217;s\u00a0Nintendo Direct, fans took to Twitter to share memories of\u00a0the popular YouTuber.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/nintendo-franchises-missing-super-smash-bros-ultimate\/\">Major Nintendo Franchises That Have Yet to Appear in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Yesterday saw the first full-fledged Nintendo Direct in over 530 days, and along with it came news of <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/super-smash-bros-ultimate-leak-nintendo-direct-dlc-characters-list\/\">Pyra\/Mythra joining <em>Super Smash Bros. Ultimate<\/em>,<\/a>\u00a0as well as\u00a0the reveal of\u00a0<em>Splatoon 3<\/em>\u00a0among other announcements. Fans were quick to take to Twitter in remembrance of Etika, specifically regarding the inclusion of Pyra\/Mythra in\u00a0<em>Smash<\/em>, whom the YouTuber had expressed a fondness for when playing through\u00a0<em>Xenoblade Chronicles 2<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/TheAlicePika\/status\/1362237504213159939\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/Blun_Z\/status\/1362229907414155266?s=20\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Among thousands of fans, content creator and close friend of Etika, imsaltYT, took to Twitter to dub\u00a0<em>Super Smash Bros. Ultimate<\/em>&#8216;s Fighters Pass Vol. 2 the &#8220;Etika pass,&#8221; which was echoed by the late YouTuber&#8217;s ex-girlfriend TheAlicePika, who was incredibly supportive of Etika even after their relationship and prior to his passing. Among a fondness for\u00a0Robin from the\u00a0<em>Fire Emblem<\/em> series, Etika was known for his love for <i>Xenoblade Chronicles 2<\/i>&#8216;s\u00a0Pyra\/Mythra, as well as\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/super-smash-bros-ultimate-min-min-no-abilities\/\">Min Min from\u00a0<em>ARMS<\/em>.<\/a> As for Steve from\u00a0<em>Minecraft<\/em>,\u00a0imsaltYT references a running joke\u00a0among Etika and his fans saying that he\u00a0loved the game, despite the late YouTuber&#8217;s\u00a0every effort to avoid it most times.<\/p>\n<p>While some fans\u00a0of Etika expressed\u00a0excitement over many of his favorite characters getting into\u00a0<em>Super Smash Bros. Ultimate<\/em>, others <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/etika-mural-youtube-new-york\/\">couldn&#8217;t help but miss the content creator<\/a>\u00a0even more after being reminded of him time and time again. On the flip side, others voiced disapproval with how frequently Etika fans take to Twitter to talk about the late YouTuber whenever a character is revealed in\u00a0<em>Smash<\/em> or a Nintendo Direct is mentioned.<\/p>\n<p>While\u00a0<em>Super Smash Bros. Ultimate<\/em> has become somewhat of a celebration of video games, it has also become a <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/nintendo-etika-controller-backlash\/\">celebration of content creators like Etika<\/a> for many fans.
