Originally released in 2007,\u00a0The Burning Crusade<\/em>\u00a0was World of Warcraft<\/em>‘s first major expansion. It introduced two new races (Blood Elves and Draenei), two new crafting professions (Jewelcrafting and Inscription), and an entirely new world, Outland, accessed through the Dark Portal in the Blasted Lands.<\/p>\n

With\u00a0The Burning Crusade Classic<\/em> officially\u00a0announced,\u00a0World of Warcraft Classic<\/em> players are\u00a0already getting ready\u00a0for a major overhaul coming to\u00a0the vanilla experience<\/a>.\u00a0While Illidan Stormrage\u00a0might say otherwise, players who take time to gear up and get ready for the expansion\u00a0will\u00a0be prepared!<\/strong><\/p>\n

10 <\/span>Level An Alt<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

A few months remain until\u00a0The Burning Crusade Classic\u00a0<\/em>is officially added<\/a> to the base subscription \u2013 that’s plenty of time to get another character to level 60. Having an alt isn’t necessary to fully experience\u00a0The Burning Crusade<\/em>, but it’s always nice to have more than one character option heading into a new expansion.<\/p>\n

When\u00a0The Burning Crusade\u00a0<\/em>was initially released, there was a huge faction imbalance. Hopefully Blizzard addresses this issue, but it might be handy to have a character in each faction (on different servers, of course) in case things go sour.<\/p>\n

9 <\/span>Farm, Farm, Farm<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Gold means a lot more in\u00a0Classic<\/em> than it does in retail\u00a0World of Warcraft<\/em>. Mounts cost significantly more, training to\u00a0ride<\/em> those mounts costs significantly more, and even new abilities come at a heavy price above level 60.<\/p>\n

When the epic flying mount in\u00a0The Burning Crusade Classic\u00a0<\/em>will be a staggering 5000g, spending time farming gold\u00a0before the expansion releases is necessary for players who want to take to the skies early on.<\/p>\n

8 <\/span>Complete Every Dungeon<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

World of Warcraft Classic<\/em> boasts a swathe of dungeons each with unique aesthetics, fights, and rewards. While they aren’t great for leveling a character<\/a>, experiencing these original dungeons in their original form is something of a rite of passage for\u00a0Classic<\/em> fans.<\/p>\n

From Ragefire Chasm to Dire Maul, every\u00a0dungeon in\u00a0World of Warcraft Classic<\/em>\u00a0improves a player’s communication and knowledge of their class\u00a0\u2013 necessary skills for the Heroic difficulty dungeons to come in\u00a0The Burning Crusade Classic.<\/em><\/p>\n

7 <\/span>Complete End-Game Raids<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Arguably the most iconic and memorable moments in\u00a0World of Warcraft Classic<\/em> happen in raids. There are seven raids in\u00a0Classic<\/em> \u2013 Zul’Gurub, Molten Core, Blackwing Lair, Onyxia’s Lair, The Ruins of Ahn’Quiraj, the Temple of Ahn’Quiraj, and the infamous Naxxramas.<\/p>\n

Completing these raids is not necessary to access any of the raids to come in\u00a0The Burning Crusade Classic<\/em>, but the drops from each boss go a long way in getting a player ahead of the curve<\/a> for upcoming raids.<\/p>\n

6 <\/span>Pick Up Mining For Jewelcrafting<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Jewelcrafting will be\u00a0a new profession introduced in\u00a0The Burning Crusade Classic<\/em>. In Outland, players will find gear with gem sockets, which improve the armor or weapon slightly when a gem is attached. Jewelcrafting is one of the most lucrative professions, but it also has a high cost of entry.<\/p>\n

Similar to the Engineering profession, Jewelcrafting materials on the auction house go for a pretty penny. Prepare for this profession by leveling up Mining,\u00a0which yields materials the player can sell for gold or keep for Jewelcrafting later down the line.<\/p>\n

5 <\/span>Pick Up\u00a0Skinning and Leatherworking<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

While Jewelcrafting will be the hot new profession everybody and their mother wants to try, Leatherworking is the true king of The Burning Crusade\u00a0<\/em>professions. Leatherworking\u00a0yields some of the best items in the expansion, including the largely broken item Drums of Battle.<\/p>\n

Skinning is a very lucrative gathering profession for this reason, too. Basic materials and intermediate crafted materials sell for a lot on the auction house, and will yield significant gold on the auction house.<\/p>\n

4 <\/span>Play Through Iconic Questlines<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

World of Warcraft Classic\u00a0<\/em>does not have the most interesting quest mechanics, to say the least, with\u00a0a majority\u00a0of quests being some form of “go here, kill this, come back”. However, that is not to say\u00a0Classic<\/em> lacks narrative brilliance and intriguing reasons for the player to kill 10 monsters at a time.<\/p>\n

Quests like The Legend of Stalvan, In Dreams, Pamela’s Doll and Lost in Battle are just the tip of the iceberg of well-designed quests and well-told stories \u2013 just make sure you’re in the right faction for some of the more exclusive options.<\/p>\n

3 <\/span>Grind for PvP Titles<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

The military hierarchy-style player vs player titles were eventually removed from\u00a0World of Warcraft<\/em> in the retail version. In\u00a0Classic<\/em>, players can grind honor in battlegrounds and world PvP<\/a> to get titles such as Grand Marshall, Knight-Champion, and even Commander.<\/p>\n

It’s much more fear-inducing to charge into battle as a Commander than as a lowly Private. Plus, there are some unique rewards,\u00a0like epic PvP mounts, for the best of the best.<\/p>\n

2 <\/span>Check Out The Dark Portal<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

The\u00a0Classic<\/em> Dark Portal in the Blasted Lands looks vastly different from the Dark Portal as it appears in retail\u00a0World of Warcraft.\u00a0<\/em>The portal is blue, the entrance is small, and there is little to do around it, save for sit and gaze into the starry abyss of the Dark Portal’s center.<\/p>\n

For long-time players, it’s a trip down memory lane<\/a> that might not be available ever again once\u00a0The Burning Crusade Classic<\/em>\u00a0launches and characters move on to the new expansion.<\/p>\n

1 <\/span>Consider Keeping A Classic Character<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

The Burning Crusade Classic\u00a0<\/em>will allow players to transfer characters to dedicated Vanilla servers\u00a0if they want\u00a0to avoid any<\/em> changes to the original game.\u00a0The Burning Crusade\u00a0<\/em>brought a lot of changes to\u00a0World of Warcraft<\/em>, and while most of these changes were welcomed, it is still worth keeping a character on a vanilla server for the nostalgia value<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Classic<\/em> might have been a once-in-a-lifetime reboot of the\u00a0World of Warcraft<\/em> franchise, but that doesn’t mean the experience is limited to just two years.\u00a0Keep a character on a vanilla server if having access to the game in its original form is important to you.<\/p>\n
