Following in the footsteps of the GO Tour: Kanto&#8217;s theme, trainers are being invited to partake in a Kanto Celebration which promises more opportunities to encounter <em>Pokemon&#8217;<\/em>s original 151 monsters.<\/p>\n<p>While the Kanto Celebration didn&#8217;t introduce any new Pokemon, the aforementioned\u00a0GO Tour event finished introducing the Shiny variants of all original 151 Pokemon to\u00a0<em><a href=\"http:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/pokemon-go\">Pokemon GO<\/a>.\u00a0<\/em>The Kanto Celebration event is also completely free-to-play, whereas the GO Tour: Kanto required a paid ticket.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-go-get-shiny-ditto-how\/\">Pokemon GO: How To Get Shiny Ditto<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Among other things, like increased Kanto Pokemon spawns, <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-go-shiny-krabby-get-how\/\">special Incense spawns<\/a>, and formidable Kantonian Raid Bosses, the Kanto Celebration invites players to complete a unique Timed Research challenge. The four-stage Timed Research gives players a relatively easy shot at some of the more popular Pokemon found in the Kanto region, as well as giving trainers a chance to stock up on coveted Mega Energy.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/PokemonGoApp\/status\/1363549035789975555?s=20\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>The Timed Research will automatically appear in players&#8217; &#8220;Today&#8221; tab during the Kanto Celebration, but players\u00a0must complete the Timed Research before the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-go-kanto-celebration-event-february-2021\/\">Kanto Celebration concludes on February 27, 2021<\/a>, 8:00 p.m. (local time). The Research Tasks and Rewards are as follows:<\/p>\n<p><strong>Part 1 of 4<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Power up Pokemon 5 times | Paras<\/li>\n<li>Transfer 6 Pokemon | Geodude<\/li>\n<li>Catch 20 Pokemon | Rhyhorn<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Complete Part 1 of 4\u00a0| Onix, 3 Razz Berries, 40 Venusaur Mega Energy<\/p>\n<p><strong>Part 2 of 4<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Defeat 3 Team GO Rocket Grunts | Ekans<\/li>\n<li>Catch 2 Shadow Pokemon | Drowzee<\/li>\n<li>Catch 20 Pokemon | Koffing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Complete Part 2 of 4 | Grimer, 1,000 XP, 40 Charizard Mega Energy<\/p>\n<p><strong>Part 3 of 4<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Take a snapshot of a Water-type Pokemon | Staryu<\/li>\n<li>Catch 20 Water-type Pokemon | Shellder<\/li>\n<li>Catch 25 Pokemon | Tentacool<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Complete Part 3 of 4 | Omanyte, 3 Pinap Berries, 40 Blastoise Mega Energy<\/p>\n<p><strong>Part\u00a04 of 4<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Power up Pokemon 10 times | Porygon<\/li>\n<li>Send 3 gifts to friends | Jynx<\/li>\n<li>Catch 25 Pokemon | Eevee<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Complete Part 4 of 4 | Aerodactyl, 2,500 XP, 1 Rare Candy<\/p>\n<p>All Kanto Pokemon can now be encountered in their Shiny forms, so all of these Reward Encounters can potentially appear as Shiny. <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-go-shiny-jynx-get-how\/\">Shiny Jynx is rather elusive<\/a>, Shiny Paras was recently added to the game, and Shiny Aerodactyl boasts a permanently boosted appearance rate, so these three are particularly worth the work.<\/p>\n<p>This Timed Research isn&#8217;t as expansive as some of the GO Tour: Kanto Research, but that was also a\u00a0special\u00a0paid event, so players should expect it to receive more content.
