In the future, she will even be\u00a0adding video game adaptations to that list as she has been cast in the\u00a0Borderlands\u00a0<\/em>movie<\/a>.<\/p>\n

10 <\/span>Fierce Creatures (1997) \u2013 62%<\/h2>\n

A reunion of sorts,\u00a0Fierce Creatures\u00a0<\/em>features a cast of\u00a0A Fish Called Wanda\u00a0<\/em>alumni, another farce about\u00a0generally awful but hilarious people. Any comparisons between the two projects do not flatter\u00a0Fierce Creatures<\/em>, as the 1997 comedy\u00a0does not quite have the sharp wit or impeccable physical humor of the 1988 classic.<\/p>\n

Despite its shortcomings,\u00a0Fierce Creatures\u00a0<\/em>still produces a few memorable moments, primarily courtesy of John Cleese and Kevin Kline. Curtis delivers a fine but largely forgettable performance, which can be said for the entire film.<\/p>\n

9 <\/span>True Lies (1994) \u2013 63%<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

While a lesser entry in James Cameron’s filmography<\/a>,\u00a0True Lies\u00a0<\/em>has plenty to offer as an over-the-top spy romp that is more interested in extracting\u00a0laughs than thrills. PortrayingArnold Schwarzenegger<\/a>‘s wife, Curtis’s Helen transforms from a bored housewife to an accidental action hero, although the process does involve being kidnapped by her husband.<\/p>\n

True Lies\u00a0<\/em>is undoubtedly Schwarzenegger’s vehicle, although Curtis does manage to hold her own alongside her costar. That is something not many people can claim.<\/p>\n

8 <\/span>The Tailor of Panama (2001) \u2013 66%<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Starring a former Bond<\/a> as an MI6 agent\u00a0sent to Panama to investigate the local corruption,\u00a0The Tailor of Panama\u00a0<\/em>is a spy thriller stripped of any Hollywood flash.\u00a0Pierce Brosnan\u00a0steals the show as the disgraced Andy Osnard, a spy who has all the vices of Bond but without the heroics or cinematic charm to mask them.<\/p>\n

The Tailor of Panama\u00a0<\/em>is a character piece masquerading as a spy thriller, a film about real people with flaws, unsavory goals, and frustrations.<\/p>\n

7 <\/span>Halloween (2018) \u2013 67%<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Forty years following the original, Laurie Strode and Michael Myers reunited for another\u00a0Halloween\u00a0<\/em>event. Although not quite reaching the same heights as the original,\u00a0Halloween\u00a0<\/em>(2018) proved to be an exciting and intense addition to the storied franchise.<\/p>\n

Halloween\u00a0<\/em>has produced plenty of underwhelming sequels, including a few starring Jamie Lee Curtis herself, but this 2018 continuation is not one of them.\u00a0A throwback to 1978’s\u00a0Halloween<\/em>, this entry strips back any unnecessary mythology and fluff to tell a simple tale about surviving against a dangerous and persistent killer. It works.<\/p>\n

6 <\/span>Trading Places (1983) \u2013 69%<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

If\u00a0Halloween\u00a0<\/em>put Jamie Lee Curtis on the horror map<\/a>, then\u00a0Trading Places\u00a0<\/em>expanded it to include other genres. The Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy comedy is an ’80s classic about brothers who play around with the lives of two people from different walks of life. A screwball comedy that does not have any aspirations besides producing a few hearty laughs,\u00a0Trading Place\u00a0<\/em>is\u00a0an easy sit.<\/p>\n

Curtis portrays Ophelia, a prostitute\u00a0who befriends Aykroyd’s character. The role might not be especially unique, but Curtis demonstrates impeccable comedic timing.<\/p>\n

5 <\/span>Freaky Friday (2003) \u2013 70%<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Freaky Friday <\/em>could have\u00a0been a Lindsay Lohan vehicle if the young actress was not sharing the stage with Jamie Lee Curtis. Once the mother and daughter switch bodies, Curtis puts in a wonderful and energetic turn as a teenager trying (and largely failing) to play adult.<\/p>\n

Most of the movie’s biggest laughs come courtesy of Curtis’ performance, and it seems like\u00a0she had a ton of fun in this role. The 2003 film has aged surprisingly well,\u00a0which comes down entirely to its two leads.<\/p>\n

Following a string of slashers,\u00a0Jamie Lee Curtis took a slight left turn with 1981’s\u00a0Road Games<\/em>, an Australian thriller about a truck driver pursuing a serial killer. A decent premise elevated by solid performances, particularly from Curtis and Stacy Keach,\u00a0Road Games\u00a0<\/em>tells an engrossing mystery that comes with quite a few surprises.<\/p>\n

While by no means a classic,\u00a0Road Games\u00a0<\/em>is an above-average thriller that has been largely forgotten. It is worth seeking out as a way to spend\u00a0two hours on a rainy day.<\/p>\n

3 <\/span>A Fish Called Wanda (1988) \u2013 80%<\/h2>\n

An all-time great comedy<\/a>,\u00a0A Fish Called Wanda\u00a0<\/em>captured lightning in a bottle. Featuring an unbeatable cast, including Kevin Kline, John Cleese, and Michael Palin, this 1988 farce manages to confidently juggle double-crosses, assassination attempts, smart humor, outlandish slapstick, and a surprisingly effective romance.<\/p>\n

Curtis is at the heart of\u00a0A Fish Called Wanda<\/em>‘s hijinks\u00a0and delivers perhaps the best performance\u00a0of her career. A British comedy with international appeal,\u00a0this 1988 film is a must-watch.<\/p>\n

2 <\/span>Knives Out (2019) \u2013 82%<\/h2>\n

Jamie Lee Curtis has consistently released films throughout her career, but the actress produced very little of note between 2003’s\u00a0Freaky Friday\u00a0<\/em>and 2018’s\u00a0Halloween<\/em>. An ensemble piece<\/a> littered with recognizable faces,\u00a0Rian Johnson’s whodunnit serves as a sharp and highly enjoyable homage to classic murder mystery novels and films. When the patriarch of a family dies, a detective is called in to learn what really happened.<\/p>\n

Fittingly, the most important film in Curtis’ career is also regarded as her best. Alongside Black Christmas\u00a0<\/em>and earlier films like\u00a0Psycho<\/em>,\u00a0John Carpenter’s\u00a0Halloween\u00a0<\/em>set the standards<\/a> that would come to define the slasher genre. As Laurie Strode, Curtis has been immortalized as the most iconic “final girl.”<\/p>\n
