Toy company Hasbro and Epic Games<\/strong> are longtime collaborators,\u00a0creating a variety of\u00a0Fortnite<\/a>–<\/em>inspired action figures and other toys since they first agreed to work together in 2018. As reported by Game Informer, the two companies revealed today that their partnership would continue for another five years, promising that the\u00a0extended deal would bring with it an assortment of new, in-game additions and more merchandise for fans.<\/p>\n

“Hasbro\u2019s expertise in the realm of collectible figure and role play segments has yielded incredibly positive results,” said Hasbro\u00a0SVP GM\u00a0Adam Biehl, promising that the deal with Epic Games<\/a> would extend the range of\u00a0Fortnite\u00a0<\/em>toys coming to stores. If fans want an indicator of what that means for the future of the game’s merchandise, Hasbro pointed to the recent\u00a0G.I. Joe\u00a0<\/em>collaboration<\/a> as a good indicator.<\/p>\n

The deal saw\u00a0Snake Eyes crop up as a new skin in\u00a0Fortnite,\u00a0<\/em>coming complete with Katana harvester and back bling cosmetics. Alongside his release in the game, Hasbro went on to drop an action figure of the skin, which players could pick up in stores. It seems these types of crossover collaborations could become more frequent going forward, dipping into more of\u00a0Hasbro’s franchises and bringing them to\u00a0Fortnite.\u00a0<\/em>The company even allegedly claimed the deal would bring more “in-game” content, so expect the worlds of Hasbro<\/a> and\u00a0Fortnite\u00a0<\/em>to bleed into each other more frequently\u00a0in the years to come<\/p>\n

As for what could make the jump, Hasbro owns a number of significant\u00a0brands that\u00a0would fit into\u00a0Fortnite’s\u00a0<\/em>battle royale tournaments, including\u00a0Transformers<\/a>, Power Rangers, Action Man,\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0Nerf.\u00a0<\/em>It’ll be interesting to see what eventually makes its way to the game, especially considering the title\u00a0has welcomed\u00a0cameos from several major\u00a0IPs as of late. Over the past few weeks, the likes of\u00a0God of War’s\u00a0<\/em>Kratos,\u00a0Halo’s\u00a0<\/em>Master Chief,\u00a0The Mandalorian’s\u00a0<\/em>Din Djarin, and\u00a0Street Fighter’s\u00a0<\/em>Ryu\u00a0have all cropped up in the game.<\/p>\n

There are even\u00a0rumors surrounding the implementation of\u00a0two\u00a0Alien\u00a0<\/em>skins based on Ripley and the Xenomorph<\/a>, alongside the potential\u00a0addition of\u00a0Family Guy’s\u00a0<\/em>Peter Griffin. Hasbro will definitely be able to spruce the game up with a few characters or cosmetics of its own, especially with such a strong range of brands at its disposal. The game is currently pulling in large amounts of players due to its most recent event, with Season 5’s Zero Point making for the game’s most surprising stint yet. It has\u00a0left the door open to tons of fun crossovers, reinvigorating the franchise\u00a0and offering\u00a0plenty of fun skins to collect.<\/p>\n
