Since its release, the game has welcomed a variety of updates, adding new skins and even a photo mode\u00a0to enhance the experience.<\/p>\n<p>On March 4,\u00a0the game<em>\u00a0<\/em>will get its biggest enhancement yet, with the experience slated to debut on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X as\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/mortal-shell\/\">Mortal Shell: Enhanced Edition<\/a>.\u00a0<\/em>The new version will bring major visual improvements \u2013 including a smoother frame rate, higher resolution, and reworked textures \u2013 and will be available as a free upgrade for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One players.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/ps5-xbox-series-x-upgrades-2021\/\">Every Video Game Getting PS5, Xbox Series X Upgrades in 2021 So Far<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>As for what will be included, <em>Mortal Shell\u00a0<\/em>appears to have been pretty thorough with its\u00a0upgrade. Visuals will be bumped from HD to 4K, while the game&#8217;s textures have been revamped\u00a0too, boasting higher detail. The game\u00a0will also be shifting from 30 FPS to a much smoother 60 FPS, except on Xbox Series S, where the frame rate will remain the same. For those wanting a visual cue as to what to expect from the <em>Enhanced Edition<\/em>, a new trailer showcases\u00a0some high-octane slices\u00a0of the game&#8217;s combat with the visual upgrades of the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/mortal-shell-ps5-leak-trophies\/\">PlayStation 5<\/a> and Xbox Series X versions.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"200\" height=\"113\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/f1ubuNuBKtk?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Much like <em>Dark Souls<\/em> and <em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/bloodborne-all-righteous-weapons\/\">Bloodborne<\/a>, Mortal Shell\u00a0<\/em>takes place in a sinister and cryptic world, with players able to inhabit one of four warriors\u00a0that offer\u00a0differing\u00a0builds, abilities, and weapons for players to employ in battle. Along the way, they&#8217;ll upgrade each warrior&#8217;s attributes and strengths, battling against tough enemies and gargantuan\u00a0bosses that they&#8217;ll need to analyze to defeat.
