Included among these titles will be new announcements from both third-party and indie developers. As <strong><em>Final Fantasy 7 Remake<\/em><\/strong> comes from Square Enix, a third-party developer, it could potentially be one of the titles that the State of Play chooses to dedicate its 30-minute runtime to.<\/p>\n<p>And according to a new rumor, that&#8217;s exactly what the event plans to do. Having first appeared on 4Chan before being picked up by the r\/GamingLeaksAndRumors subreddit, the rumor claims that not only will <em>Final Fantasy 7 Remake<\/em> appear at the State of Play, but <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/square-enix-releases-opening-cinematic-nier-replicant\/\">Square Enix<\/a> will use the time to announce a <em>Final Fantasy 7 Remake<\/em> upgrade. It&#8217;ll be a definitive edition that&#8217;s available for both the PlayStation 4 and the PlayStation 5 and will supposedly be called <em>Final Fantasy 7 Remake<\/em>: <em>Ever Crisis<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/rumor-final-fantasy-7-remake-one-free-ps-plus-games-march-2021\/\">Rumor: Final Fantasy 7 Remake Could Be One of the Free PS Plus Games for March 2021<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>The rumor claims that <em>Ever Crisis<\/em> will provide <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/final-fantasy-7\/\"><em>Final Fantasy 7 Remake<\/em><\/a> with a host of new game mechanics for players to enjoy. To start, players will have access to two new chapters in Chapter 8.5, &#8220;All Dressed,&#8221; and Chapter 19. There will be a new boss battle, a new set of trophies to earn, a photo mode, and something called &#8220;Materia Quick Change.&#8221; To top it off, the game will come with features exclusive to the PS5, such as a Performance Mode and full DualSense support.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/GamingLeaksAndRumours\/comments\/lrxe6p\/final_fantasy_vii_remake_ever_crisis_for_ps4ps5\/\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Of course, as with all rumors, this should be taken with a grain of salt. <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/square-enix-files-final-fantasy-7-related-ever-crisis-trademarks\/\">Square Enix trademarked <em>Ever Crisis<\/em>\u00a0<\/a>earlier this year, but the leaker could have just used the name for credibility. The information apparently comes from a press release but said release is nowhere to be found. Also, the date the supposed upgrade will apparently launch is April 10, which is the same day the original <em>FF7 Remake<\/em> released, but this year, that day is a Saturday, which usually isn&#8217;t when developers put out their new titles.<\/p>\n<p>All that said, <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/final-fantasy-7-remake-ps5-upgrade-pc-ports\/\"><em>Final Fantasy 7 Remake<\/em> upgrade rumors<\/a> have been in the mill for a while now, and if such a thing were to get announced, a PlayStation State of Play would be a particularly good place to do it. The three-minute time slot would be more than enough for Square Enix to show off what the new remake has in store.
