After it first appeared way back in 1986 on the Macintosh,\u00a0Microsoft Flight Simulator<\/em><\/strong>\u00a0has continued to be incredibly popular, eventually becoming a staple on PC. Nearly twenty-five years later, the simulation software is still going strong, having just revealed gorgeous updates for its United Kingdom and Ireland locales<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The software is showing no signs of slowing down either. A recent report states that Microsoft Flight Simulator<\/a><\/em> will be getting its first commercial passenger jet add-on. A series of YouTube videos show the features that are available in the add-on. The videos also show the level of detail that has gone into it as the player\/pilot can be seen doing a full pre-flight check.<\/p>\n

The commercial jet in question is the Bombardier CRJ developed by Aerospace. The project manager behind the add-on, Mathijs Kok, recently spoke about how Microsoft’s software has “revitalized” the third party flight simulation development community, saying that creating new content for it has been “exciting.” As a piece of software, Flight Simulator<\/em> is an extremely impressive and detailed piece of kit, with some comparing its visuals to that of real-world flying<\/a>.<\/p>\n
