In Mass Effect<\/a> Andromeda, <\/em>you’re\u00a0tasked with securing a home for mankind in the Andromeda system while facing the threat of a hostile alien race known as the Kett. But amidst all the firefights and harrowing moments, you can find time for romance<\/a> with another member of the team.<\/p>\n

Each team member brings a unique personality to the relationship that while it has little bearing in combat can make the main character\u2019s personal life fulfilling or very complicated. Here is a ranking of all the romantic options available to the main character and why you should consider pursuing them.<\/p>\n

Updated February 27th, 2021 by Ben Baker<\/strong>: Some characters are easier to court than others in this game and it\u2019s important to know the steps. It isn\u2019t a terribly complex process with any of them, but players should know what decisions they\u00a0need to make. This\u00a0article now includes some advice on this. Overall, the key is to flirt often, be patient, and show support.<\/em><\/p>\n

10 <\/span>Reyes<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Reyes is a romantic option for either Scott or Sara and is arguably the worst romantic option<\/a> in the game, given how unhealthy and destructive his lifestyle can be. The real relationship can only begin after the player allows him to kill Sloane and Reyes takes her place as head of the criminal underground.<\/p>\n

Now that the Charlatan has taken control he is the brains behind the smuggling, assassinations, and other shady activities going on in the Kadara port. It\u2019s not hard to see why a relationship with a literal criminal kingpin is not a great one to be in.<\/p>\n

Reyes is first encountered at Kralla\u2019s Song. The key to establishing a relationship is to side with Reyes when dealing with Sloane. Afterward, it\u2019s simply a matter of flirting with and defending the smuggler in future conflicts.<\/p>\n

9 <\/span>Keri<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Keri is romanceable by both Scott and Sara. She ranks low because, honestly, there isn\u2019t much of a relationship even there. Keri has no problems with the player being in romantic relationships with other characters, which suggests that at the very least she\u2019s not interested in anything serious or at worst she\u2019s engaged in other relationships of her own.<\/p>\n

This relationship mostly consists of casual flirting and the occasional hookup, but little else. There\u2019s nothing solid or foundational to build off of, it\u2019s almost expected that you would pursue something more serious with someone else.<\/p>\n

Keri reaches out to the player to set up various interviews throughout the story. Romancing her isn\u2019t terribly complicated, the player simply needs to be flirtatious and willing during interviews and when meeting casually.<\/p>\n

8 <\/span>Gil<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Gil is a romantic partner exclusive to Scott. At first, Gil would appear to be a solid partner to be involved with as he has a strong value on sincerity and trust. In fact, he makes a point of stating that he\u2019s not interested in another relationship unless it\u2019s built on absolute trust.<\/p>\n

Where things go a little off the rails is when he informs Scott that Jill wants a baby and he\u2019ll be the father, then the three of them will co-parent the child. All in all, it would raise a somewhat complicated situation for everyone involved.<\/p>\n

The first time the player meets Gil is when he\u2019s arguing with Kallo over modifications to the ship. To begin romancing Gil the player needs to side with him\u00a0on the argument. Afterward, the player does the standard flirting and supporting of the character.<\/p>\n

7 <\/span>Dr. Suvi<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Dr. Suvi will only enter a romantic relationship with Sara. In the beginning, the relationship builds slowly with the doctor seemingly uncomfortable throughout the process. Part of this may be due to the baggage Dr. Suvi has with leaving her home and family, regretting the decision to join the Initiative.<\/p>\n

Eventually, the beginnings of a serious relationship can be forged, but it\u2019s apparent it\u2019ll be rough for quite a while as evidenced by her reluctance to hug Sara in public, stating there are too many people around. It\u2019s obvious the relationship is good for Dr. Suvi but its unclear if the same can be said for Sara.<\/p>\n

As soon as the player meets Dr. Suvi they can start flirting, but she\u2019ll only respond well if the player is playing the female character. After this interaction, the player simply needs to keep trying to flirt and be patient.<\/p>\n

6 <\/span>Avela<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Avela is a possible romantic interest for Scott. She\u2019s a very intelligent young woman and very motivated to uncover the origins of her people the Angara. As the player assists her with her work in finding relics to study, the relationship will begin to grow.<\/p>\n

Unfortunately, Avela doesn\u2019t believe anything serious can work as they are both far too busy to give romance the attention and dedication it deserves, she\u2019s also worried about being a distraction. Ultimately, she calls things off with the promise that when everything is over they can start up again.<\/p>\n

The player can bring artifacts to Avela at any point in the story. Before finding the Meridian the player can flirt with her and establish a fling. There\u2019s nothing that occurs after this point beyond basic flirting.<\/p>\n

5 <\/span>Vetra<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Vetra is a romantic option for both Scott and Sara. She\u2019s had a rough life. Growing up in the seedy underbelly of society she\u2019s been a smuggler, mercenary, and everything in between to survive and get by. Fortunately, this hasn\u2019t corrupted her and she uses her skills and connections to help others.<\/p>\n

The relationship is a sweet one as she tries to fit a more traditional mold to please her partner, including burning a steak in an effort to do something special. When the relationship becomes serious she shares her desire to settle down and build a home.<\/p>\n

To start a relationship with Vetra the player needs to speak with her between missions. The key to Vetra is to flirt plenty of times before she takes them to Sulfur Springs. If the player hasn\u2019t been courting her enough the relationship will no longer be achievable.<\/p>\n

4 <\/span>Jaal<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Jaal can be a partner to both Scott and Sara. Jaal is one of the more popular partners among the fanbase and for good reason. He\u2019s initially very leery of the player and romance isn\u2019t even possible until the two become friends.<\/p>\n

Afterward, he slowly opens up and shares his personal life and introduces the player to his family. He admits this is something he\u2019s never done before and recognizing this wants to make things serious. After becoming official he proves to be a kind and dedicated partner.<\/p>\n

Jaal can be a bit tricky given how stand-offish he is in the beginning. The key is to be patient and flirt as much as possible between missions. Eventually his shell cracks and he starts sharing things, it\u2019s key for the player to accept being together for the relationship to solidify.<\/p>\n

3 <\/span>Pelessaria (Peebee)<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Peebee is a romantic option for both Scott and Sara. She is extremely blunt which can get annoying at times, but can also be refreshing as it removes a lot of guesswork that comes with building a relationship. At first, she won’t want anything serious, but over time she becomes very invested in the\u00a0connection.<\/p>\n

She has some of the best\/worst dialogue thanks to her bluntness and sarcasm. The depth of her love for the player character is stronger than most thanks to her species unique melding option, which is seen as romantic for some fans and uncomfortable for others.<\/p>\n

After the player has built an outpost on Eos they\u2019ll be able to start flirting with Peebee. This relationship is one of the easier ones to foster. The player simply needs to pursue a relationship with strings attached or be willing to fool around. Over time the player must demonstrate a willingness to pursue something more serious though.<\/p>\n

2 <\/span>Liam<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Liam is reserved for Sara and makes for a great partner. As a security and response specialist, he can keep a cool head in combat, but boy howdy is he a mess when it comes to dating. If you\u2019re patient, though, he\u2019s revealed to be a caring and compassionate person who struggles to convey his emotions well.<\/p>\n

His dates make for some of the most quirky moments and he has some of the best dialogue. His dreams of turning Andromeda into a peaceful home for everyone makes him ambitious and caring. The heart in the sky during the free fall wasn\u2019t a bad touch either, even if it is incredibly cheesy.<\/p>\n

The player must be female to establish a relationship with Liam. After the evacuation of the Eos vault, the player can start flirting with him. The player cannot be in any other relationship at any point while courting Liam. It’s important to pursue a serious relationship with Liam for it to work.<\/p>\n

1 <\/span>Cora<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Reserved exclusively for Scott, Cora is easily the best romantic interest to pursue in the game. Initially, the relationship is rocky as she believes she should have become the next Pathfinder instead of Scott, but over time, her animosity mellows into something wonderful.<\/p>\n

On the outside, she\u2019s a ferocious and very talented fighter who makes a capable companion in combat, but underneath she\u2019s a tender soul who wants a home with a rose garden and someone to explore the starts with. She\u2019s someone who wants to explore and have adventures with the one she loves while she can but isn\u2019t opposed to settling down and having a normal life at some point.<\/p>\n

If the player is male they can flirt with Cora the second they see her. The dialogue isn\u2019t terribly important so long as the player shows interest. The key is to flirt whenever possible and accept all opportunities to kiss. Pursuing a serious or casual relationship doesn\u2019t matter so long as a connection of some kind is chosen.<\/p>\n
