Over 22 years have passed since the release of Valve\u2019s acclaimed Half-Life<\/em><\/strong>. In the years following the 1998 release Valve published several sequels. These include\u00a0Half-Life 2: Episode One<\/a>, Half-Life 2: Episode Two<\/em>, and Half-Life: Alyx<\/em>. However, the company never published a Half-Life 3<\/em>.\u00a0Though Valve long denied claims that a follow-up Half-Life<\/em> installment was ever in development, a 2020 documentary finally revealed\u00a0it had canceled the game.<\/p>\n

Most fans gave up on Half-Life 3<\/em> as a result of this announcement, but one man has not abandoned hope. \u201cToday is February 26, 2021\u201d a glum looking YouTuber going by the name of Hazard Time announces to his 126 viewers. \u201cThere is no news about Half-Life 3.<\/em>\u201d This video marks his 1202nd daily Half-Life 3<\/em> update.<\/p>\n

Throughout its three year run, the channel has gone through several chapters. One of the most notable being the saga beginning on April Fool\u2019s Day 2019<\/a>, where the channel owner was inexplicably replaced by a different man. This continued for eight days until a cryptic black and white video hinted at the original host\u2019s reappearance. The following video showed the owner\u2019s return; the moment punctuated by Eminem\u2019s \u201cWithout Me.\u201d Yet, one thing has remained consistent: \u201cthere is no news about Half-Life 3<\/em>.\u201d<\/p>\n

The channel owner, Liam Praino remarked a common trope in zombie movies inspired his bizarre daily effort. In this trope a character films himself, stating the number of days since the outbreak. Praino stated that though he is aware of the release of Half-Life: Alyx<\/em><\/a>, he does not believe it is \u201cHalf-Life 3.<\/em>\u201d Close contacts of Praino reveal that he lives in severe poverty and has yet to play the new installment in the franchise, as it is exclusive to VR. His Patreon\u00a0states all funds received go towards the purchase of a VR headset so the determined fan can finally experience Half-Life: Alyx<\/em>.<\/p>\n
