However, there are more details and traits than meet the eye when it comes to this beast of a pistol.<\/p>\n

Elemental powers serve to augment weapons and add a fun way to inflict bonus damage on foes, and this is certainly the case with the Queen’s Call. The weapon always comes in either cryo, radiation, or corrosive. All of these help keep the DPS coming while players frequently reload with its small magazine size.<\/p>\n

The only ways in which they’re different\u00a0are their monikers and their elements.<\/p>\n

The King’s Call comes laced with one of\u00a0the two elemental effects not covered by the Queen’s: incendiary or shock. Both of these can be equally impactful under the right circumstances.<\/p>\n

The Queen’s Call is truly unique\u00a0with its\u00a0perks tied to ammo consumption and magazine size. On the one hand, the weapon can be pretty limited and cumbersome in this area, as its magazine size of six is quite low.<\/p>\n

This is compounded by its hefty consumption of three ammo per shot, which naturally leads to frequent reloads. Even\u00a0with\u00a0<\/strong>that amusing spin animation, this constant reloading can become an annoyance for some.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, sharpshooting players can really exploit the perk of recollecting three bullets as a result of a critical. Landing ample critical hits means that players can fire off a constant stream of shots with minimal reloading and near-infinite ammo. Basically, the Queen’s Call can either be swift and resourceful or a slow glutton of a pistol.<\/p>\n

The Queen’s Call can excel with various builds<\/a> and classes, to be sure. Though many fans point to the Beastmaster FL4K as the biggest beneficiary of the Queen’s Call\u00a0by far.<\/em>\u00a0<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n

And the reason is his\u00a0impactful Action Skill from the Stalker skill tree<\/a>, Fade Away. The skill not only makes FL4K invisible to foes for fifteen seconds but also grants automatic criticals. Of course, this goes quite well with Queen’s Call, which is\u00a0hugely enhanced by scoring criticals.<\/p>\n

Though this altered version of critical hits is a bit less potent than a true\u00a0<\/strong>critical, it can still be effective in piling on the DPS over time, especially with reload not being a factor.<\/p>\n

Though practiced shooters can tear it up with most baddies when using Queen’s Call, it’s really more tailored towards larger foes and bosses.<\/p>\n

The emphasis on landing criticals means that its power and efficiency go way up on bosses, who usually have larger, meatier critical spots. The ricochet feature is very useful here too, as projectiles usually return to their original target.<\/p>\n

4 <\/span>An Eerily Organic Monster Skin<\/h2>\n

The distinct traits of this beastly pistol extend to its skin, which actually tends to look<\/strong> like a beast in gun form.<\/p>\n

In adhering to the monstrous theme of Tyreen the Destroyer, the weapon’s barrel has a warped organic mesh\u00a0that even comes with moving parts and blinking\u00a0eye clusters.<\/p>\n

3 <\/span>It Can Be\u00a0Found\u00a0Without Slaying Tyreen The Destroyer<\/h2>\n

Borderlands 3 players often see fit to farm Tyreen the Destroyer to get this pistol<\/a>, as slaying her grants the best chance to find it. However, it can technically still be found randomly from any loot source in the game.<\/p>\n

Beyond its in-game Tyreen reference, Queen’s Call also holds a more subtle, seemingly random reference by way of the\u00a0flavor text on its stat card. The line that reads “life is ours, we live it our way” is actually a homage to the hit Metallica single, “Nothing Else Matters.”<\/p>\n

One would think a nod to their St. Anger track “Some Kind of Monster” would have been a more suitable reference, but perhaps Gearbox was going for popularity points over context.<\/p>\n

1 <\/span>Has Been Hit With Nerfs<\/h2>\n

The King’s and Queen’s Call found themselves among the biggest victims of\u00a0a September 2019 update from Gearbox<\/a>, which included certain tweaks and patches.<\/p>\n

These changes included a somewhat negligible drop in damage output for the gun. But most notable\u00a0was significantly slowing down the fire rate, which dialed back over 50%. This has brought\u00a0criticism from some fans, as it tends to conflict with the swift nature of Jakobs weapons and hampers the effectiveness of this once beastly-pistol.<\/p>\n

Regardless, most of the Queen’s Call’s other perks and abilities remain unchanged, and it’s still considered a top-tier Legendary<\/a>.<\/p>\n
