Nearly six months after its announcement, YouTube has finally started rolling out the feature in beta in the U.S (via <a href=\"https:\/\/www.xda-developers.com\/youtube-tiktok-like-shorts-feature-is-rolling-out-in-beta-in-the-us\/\" georiot-ignore=\"true\" class=\"norewrite\"><em>XDA Developers<\/em><\/a>).<\/p>\n<p>When YouTube shared its <a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidcentral.com\/youtubes-2021-plans-include-tablet-redesign-global-shorts-and-easier-shopping\" georiot-ignore=\"true\" class=\"norewrite\">2021 roadmap last month<\/a>, it revealed that the Shorts player is now receiving over 3.5 billion daily views. Due to the rising popularity of the feature, the number of Indian channels using Shorts creation tools has more than tripled since December.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidcentral.com\/youtube\" georiot-ignore=\"true\" class=\"norewrite\">YouTube<\/a> Shorts can be up to 60 seconds long and appear on the homepage Shorts shelf. Despite all the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.androidcentral.com\/tiktok-wechat-be-banned-us-app-stores-sunday-september-20\" georiot-ignore=\"true\" class=\"norewrite\">challenges<\/a>, TikTok continues to grow in popularity and is <a href=\"https:\/\/www.prnewswire.com\/news-releases\/tik-tok-set-to-reach-1-2-billion-average-monthly-active-users-in-2021-predicts-app-annie-301170855.html\" georiot-ignore=\"true\" class=\"norewrite\">forecasted<\/a> to reach 1.2 billion average monthly active users in 2021.<\/p>\n<p>It is worth noting that Shorts is only being rolled out to select users currently. If the feature doesn&#8217;t show up on your phone, you can try joining the <a href=\"https:\/\/play.google.com\/apps\/testing\/com.google.android.youtube\" georiot-ignore=\"true\" class=\"norewrite\">YouTube beta program<\/a> from the Play Store.<\/p>\n<p>Google is yet to reveal exactly when the feature will begin rolling out to everyone.
