Last month,\u00a0The Mandalorian\u2019s<\/em>\u00a0Pedro Pascal\u00a0was cast to play Joel Miller in HBO\u2019s series adaption of\u00a0The Last Of Us<\/strong><\/em><\/a>.<\/em> Now, a\u00a0recent\u00a0piece of\u00a0fan art that imagines Pascal as Miller got the attention of the creator of the video game franchise.<\/p>\n

The upcoming series\u00a0is based on Neil Druckmann\u2019s popular 2013 Sony PlayStation video game. The Last of Us Part II<\/em> <\/a>was released last June and sold over four million copies worldwide in just three days. It was awarded game of the year and ended up breaking numerous PlayStation grossing records.<\/p>\n

Written by Druckmann and Chernobyl<\/em>\u00a0creator Craig Mazin, The Last of Us<\/em> series will follow Pascal\u2019s Joel and Bella Ramsey\u2019s<\/a>\u00a014-year-old Ellie as they journey across the United States following the collapse of modern society. The two characters are forced to depend on each other for survival as they travel out of an oppressive quarantine zone. Of course, beyond the quarantine zone lies the threat of\u00a0cannibalistic humans and\u00a0creatures\u00a0infected\u00a0by a mutated fungus. Russian filmmaker Kantemir Balagov was tapped to direct the first episode.<\/p>\n
