Regardless of how you see the game, It can’t be argued that\u00a0The Medium\u00a0<\/em>has a lot of unique qualities that make it stand out as a video game.<\/p>\n

The Medium\u00a0<\/em>is a game that’s notorious for being incredibly slow-paced. This may turn off a handful of gamers, but remedying this is actually quite simple. While moving around in the game, they can simply always hold the LT button to make sure Marriane is moving faster.<\/p>\n

Take note, Marriane’s “run” during moments where she doesn’t necessarily have to run may not be as fast as one may like them to be. Then again, this game was made with this pacing in mind.<\/p>\n

One of this game’s strengths is the way it sets its atmosphere. Those who really want to fully immerse themselves while playing\u00a0The Medium\u00a0<\/em>should play while wearing a set of headphones.<\/p>\n

Not only will this make the game so much more fun and interesting, but it is also a way for players to interact with the environment more. In the game, the player will be able to hear faint whispers of echoes of the past. These things can be seen using Insight as well, but that’s an active skill the player must activate first. Utilizing sound in the game like this makes the experience much more personal and interesting.<\/p>\n

8 <\/span>Fully Understand The Game’s Backstory Via Items<\/h2>\n

Collecting everything and reading notes is not only something the players can do, it’s an absolute necessity if they want to get the full picture of this game’s story. Even though the game feels like one whole season of a TV series, not everything about the game’s world will be told outright to the players.<\/p>\n

When Bloober Team created this game, it was their idea to make the game as cinematic as possible. For this, they made sure the game had HUDs whatsoever. Given the game’s split-screen feature, placing HUDs on the screen would just make it cluttered.<\/p>\n

This is why there is no progress bar for Marianne’s spirit power. However, there is a better way for you to keep track of it. Just keep an eye out for Marianne’s arm. If the light rings start to get lower, that means she’s almost out of spirit energy.<\/p>\n

6 <\/span>Observe The Flashlight For Maw<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Maw is one of the monsters<\/a> that will constantly stalk the player all throughout the game. What’s more awful is that the creature can follow them in both realms, though the approach for both differs.<\/p>\n

Maw cannot be fought. It can only be stunned using Marianne’s spirit power. The best way to deal with Maw is to simply avoid it by using stealth. If the player is unsure of Maw’s exact position while trying to avoid the monster, they can look down on their flashlight. If it is flickering, that means Maw is getting closer.<\/p>\n

5 <\/span>Complete Secret Achievements<\/h2>\n
<\/figure>\n

Secret achievements<\/a> are a massive part of gaming when it comes to Microsoft’s titles. It is the same for\u00a0The Medium\u00a0<\/em>as well. Trophy hunters will be absolutely delighted to have another game to complete, but that will be easier said than done.<\/p>\n

Completing a lot of the secret achievements of\u00a0The Medium\u00a0<\/em>is actually pretty tough. One involves having the player collect every single note in the game, in just one playthrough. It won’t be easy, but it’s something that’s on the table for those who wish to achieve it.<\/p>\n

4 <\/span>Wait For A Post-Credits Scene<\/h2>\n

Nowadays, a post-credits scene is almost expected by everybody, regardless if it’s a movie, TV show, or video game. That’s a good thing too. Making these pieces of fiction isn’t easy to do and allowing the staff responsible for the making of the game to be acknowledged for just a bit is a great thing.<\/p>\n

The Maw is one persistent monster that just won’t give up in this game. It will always find its way back to the player, whether they like it or not. The Maw shouldn’t be approached and fought head-on. This is not that kind of game. It should be avoided, and getting through the game without ever being caught by the Maw is something the player can absolutely do.<\/p>\n

It won’t be easy, but it will make the gameplay and playthrough more exciting. If they do manage to do this, they’ll receive an achievement by the end of the game.<\/p>\n

2 <\/span>Speedrun<\/h2>\n

Speedrunning has become its own branch of video gaming. Speedrunners are like the athletes of the gaming world, save for pros who participate in tournaments, of course. The point is, speedrunning is a feat not everyone is capable of doing, but it’s something the player can do while playing\u00a0The Medium.<\/em><\/p>\n

This game isn’t very long and it is fairly linear. With enough practice, replays, and dedication, speedrunning\u00a0The Medium\u00a0<\/em>is absolutely doable.<\/p>\n

Thomas is one of the most central characters in\u00a0The Medium.\u00a0<\/em>He is a very enigmatic figure at first, and the player will be torn on their perception towards the character, but in the end, everything will be made clear.<\/p>\n

Thomas is a very interesting character as well. Unfortunately, what’s revealed about him just from the main gameplay itself isn’t the full picture. Thankfully, the players can learn more about this character by finding all of his notes. Everything about him will be explained there.<\/p>\n
