The season finale of the hit Marvel Studios series\u00a0WandaVision<\/b><\/em><\/a>\u00a0is dropping on Disney Plus this Friday. Matt Shakman, who directed all nine episodes of the series, recently confirmed that the\u00a0show will lead right into\u00a0Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n

In\u00a0WandaVison<\/em>\u00a0episode 8<\/a>, Agatha (Kathryn Hahn) revealed that Wanda\u2019s (Elizabeth Olsen) “Chaos Magic\u201d allows her to change the reality around her. The loaded penultimate episode also showed Wanda watching her parents die after being struck by a Stark Industries missile. Viewers then saw a flashback scene where Vision (Paul Bettany) supports Wanda after her twin brother Pietro was murdered by Ultron while trying to help the Avengers.<\/p>\n

Shakman recently told\u00a0TVLine\u00a0<\/em>that \u201cthe scene of [Wanda and Vision] coming together as a couple in the Avengers compound, sitting on the bed together talking about losing Pietro and Vision saying, \u2018Grief is love persevering\u2019 is the core of the whole show.\u201d While\u00a0Shakman is \u201cappreciative\u201d that fans have embraced the series, the director knows that some will not be satisfied with the finale. \u201cAnd I know there will be a lot of disappointed people with some theories and some who will feel very smart, but you can\u2019t please everybody, obviously. But I hope folks enjoy the ride,” Shakman said. Fans have already been disappointed by WandaVision<\/em><\/a> after their theories didn’t pan out, specifically when the aerospace engineer mentioned by Monica Rambeau wasn’t Fantastic Four<\/em> hero Reed Richards, as some believed would be the case.<\/p>\n

The 45-year-old director noted that the finale will offer some resolution to the overall story arc and that Wanda’s story will continue into\u00a0Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness<\/a>.\u00a0<\/em>\u201cWanda will continue into\u00a0Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness<\/em>, and there’s a lot more to her story to be told, so this is only one part of a very complicated and very rich life,” said the filmmaker. Earlier this year, Marvel boss Kevin Feige stated that some Marvel series will get second or third seasons on Disney Plus, while others will hand off to a feature film. He also revealed that there’s room for upcoming seasons of WandaVision<\/em><\/a>\u00a0<\/em>and reaffirmed that Elizabeth Olsen will star alongside Benedict Cumberbatch in the upcoming\u00a0Doctor Strange<\/em>\u00a0sequel.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe fun of the MCU is obviously all the crossover we can do between series, between films. So it will vary based on the story,\u201d said Feige. He mentioned that Dr. Strange 2\u00a0<\/i>will be accessible to general audiences regardless of whether or not viewers have seen WandaVision<\/i>. It was also announced that the upcoming Disney Plus series\u00a0Ms. Marvel<\/em><\/a>\u00a0will lead directly into\u00a0Captain Marvel 2, <\/em>with\u00a0Iman Vellani reprising her role as Kamala Khan opposite Brie Larson and WandaVision<\/em> star\u00a0Teyonah Parris.<\/p>\n

Spider-Man<\/em>\u2019s\u00a0Sam Raimi\u00a0was tapped to direct<\/a>\u00a0Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.\u00a0<\/em>Meanwhile,\u00a0<\/em>Jade Bartlett (The Accountant<\/em>) and\u00a0Michael Waldron\u00a0(Rick and Morty<\/em>) penned the script. The loaded ensemble cast includes Rachel McAdams, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Benedict Wong.<\/p>\n

Doctor Strange in the Multiverse<\/b><\/em>\u00a0of Madness<\/b><\/em>\u00a0<\/b>is scheduled to be released in theatres on March 25, 2022, while WandaVision<\/strong><\/em> is currently available on Disney Plus.<\/p>\n
