It turns out that the actor is&#8230; Paul Bettany! Yes, you read that right.<\/p>\n<p>Bettany confirmed the news in\u00a0an interview with Good Morning America, admitting to \u2018trolling\u2019 fans about <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/wandavision-paul-bettany-major-character-tease\/\">the appearance of an actor in <em>WandaVision<\/em><\/a> he\u2019d previously said he\u00a0\u201calways wanted to work with.\u201d During the interview, Bettany\u00a0said in regards to the fan reaction to his comments, \u201cThey were guessing people like Benedict Cumberbatch, Patrick Stewart, I was thinking, god that\u2019s a good idea! They\u2019re gonna be so disappointed when they find out it&#8217;s me.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/paul-bettany-kevin-feige-firing-wandavision\/\">Paul Bettany Thought Kevin Feige Was Firing Him Before &#8216;WandaVision&#8217;<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>When the hit Marvel series <em>WandaVision<\/em> began airing on Disney Plus early this year, the English-born actor, <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/wandavision-funko-pop-vision-spoilers\/\">who plays the\u00a0Synthezoid Avenger known as\u00a0Vision<\/a>, set the internet ablaze when he claimed there would be an appearance by an actor who\u00a0he had\u00a0never worked with before. Bettany went on to say that they\u00a0had some very \u2018intense\u2019 scenes together and that fans should be excited. Fan theories were fueled by Bettany noting that the identity of the character in question had not been guessed by fans at that point.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/GMA\/status\/1367469386987163651\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Fans got\u00a0excited,\u00a0resulting in <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/wandavision-crazy-fan-theories\/\">several<em> WandaVision<\/em> theories<\/a> regarding the identity of this mystery actor\u00a0as viewers combed through Bettany\u2019s filmography to see which major star he hadn\u2019t already worked with. The theorizing\u00a0was further escalated\u00a0after fellow <em>WandaVision<\/em> co-star\u00a0Elizabeth Olsen teased a cameo that was, according to her, comparable to <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/luke-skywalker-mandalorian-john-williams-score\/\">Luke Skywalker\u2019s appearance in <em>The Mandalorian<\/em> season 2<\/a> finale<em>. <\/em>Some fans believed that this cameo was fulfilled after\u00a0actor Evan Peters showed up at the couple&#8217;s door as Pietro\/ Quicksilver, a character he had previously played in the<em> X-Men<\/em> movie universe from Fox. However, Bettany insisted that this was, in fact, not the actor\u00a0he was referring to, prompting fans to continue\u00a0speculating the guest could be\u00a0other <em>X-Men<\/em> actors like Patrick Stewart or Ian McKellen, but now\u00a0it appears that we\u2019ve all been\u00a0duped.<\/p>\n<p>In\u00a0the eighth\u00a0episode of <em>WandaVision,<\/em> it\u2019s revealed that SWORD baddie Tyler Hayward has resurrected the original body of the Vision, creating a blank version of the character <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/wandavision-white-vision-ultron-theory\/\">who\u2019s being referred to as \u2018White Vision.\u2019<\/a>\u00a0This episode also revealed that the Vision we\u2019ve been following in the show thus far was completely created by Wanda using chaos magic. It seems inevitable now that in the upcoming season finale, the two Visions will come into contact with each other, meaning Bettany will indeed be acting with\u00a0himself. But who knows, maybe Bettany is trolling again, as one of the hosts of Good Morning America points out.
