Well, every Pokemon game handled their post content a little differently. Some offered more lands to explore while others gave you more battle challenges. Oftentimes, hardcore players begin to breed for perfect IVs, shiny hunt, and complete their Pokédex. However, not everyone is up for that kind of game. Some players just want to go on more adventures and do more battles. So which Pokemon game offered the best post-game content?

RELATED: Pokémon Sword and Shield: 5 Galarian Shinies We Love (And 5 That Suck)

Updated on March 5, 2021, by Allison Stalberg: Expansions have been added to Pokemon Sword and Shield and on February 26, new Pokemon games were announced – Brilliant Diamond, Shining Pearl, and Pokemon Legends: Arceus. Games are constantly developing, but fans can beat Pokemon’s story content pretty fast. So, which is the best game to play while waiting for these new titles to come out? It could be a good idea to choose one based on how much post-game content they actually offer.

14 Red, Blue, And Yellow

As beloved and nostalgic as the first Pokemon games are, they provided little in terms of post-game content. Back then, the Pokédex was small, so it could be completed quicker than in other games. There were also very few legendary Pokémon out there to get outside of Mewtwo and the three legendary birds.

Being the first titles of the successful series, the game was what it needed to be. Just don’t expect to have much to do after becoming Champion.

13 Sun And Moon

Despite being one of the more recent games to come out, Sun and Moon were pretty lacking in post-game content. What players could do was catch all the Ultra Beasts, Legendaries, and there is also the Battle Tree. The Battle Tree was pretty cool, since players could meet Red and Blue which are characters from the past games that veterans love to see. They could also challenge some familiar faces such as Guzma, but that is just a one-time deal. They can also defend your reign as Champion, but only if they beat the elite trainers all over again

12 X And Y

After players beat the Champion of Kalos, the side quest from Detective Looker is pretty cool and a little longer than most post-game quests. They also get access to Kiloude City where you can try the Battle Maison and do the Friend Safari. Note that the Friend Safari is known to be one of the best places to strategize getting a shiny Pokemon!

11 FireRed And LeafGreen

Acting as remakes for the original Kanto region games, FireRed and LeafGreen ended with you beating Champion who was also the player’s rival. Once you finished the credits, a lot of new lands become open for exploring. These places include One Island, Four Island, Five Island, Six Island, Seven Island, and the Cerulean Caves. Note that players must have data on at least 60 Pokemon before accessing the new places. Once they have that data, go to Professor Oak and then the content will be unlocked.

10 Black And White

Black and White was quite popular for its introduction to N and for Pokemon favorites like Zoroark, Chandelure, and more. Once players defeated the Champion, there were some goodies to check out. For example, they could enter the Challengers Cave which had Pokemon from other regions that they could catch.

RELATED: Pokémon: 10 Of The Most Unusual Pokédex Entries

There was also the White Forest and Black City where they could battle NPCs and shop for rare items. Players could also explore three new routes, do Pokemon musicals, defeat Plasma’s seven sages, and compete in the battle subway. It’s a decent amount of gameplay.

9 Diamond And Pearl

At this point, completing the National Pokédex was a big deal since there were over 400 Pokemon. There were also a lot of legendaries to catch such as Arceus, Giratina, Heatran, Cresselia, Darkrai, Shaymin, and others. On top of that, there was the Battle Tower and collectibles such as Secret Base items, Pokétech applications, and Ribbon Society Ribbons.

Hardcore players could also try to upgrade their trainer card to Black, which required the player to become Champion, complete one Master Rank Super Contest, have 100 Battle Tower wins, completing the National Pokédex, and playing underground capture the flag match.

8 Ruby And Sapphire

The third generation of games offered a lot of post-game content through its Battle Tower, Trick House, contests, and 202 Pokemon in the Pokédex. Players could even try to get the Gold Trainer Card, which required defeating the Elite Four, winning all Master Rank contests, completing the 50 trainer Battle Tower challenge, and completing the Pokédex.

In terms of post-game content, this was targeted towards more hardcore players who wanted to be challenged.

7 Omega Ruby And Alpha Sapphire

The Battle Resort is unlocked once players defeat the Champion of this Ruby and Sapphire remake. There are also daily Mirage Spots that appear throughout the region where Legendary Pokemon can be caught. There are also Secret Bases that players can visit. Players can also test themselves at the Battle Institute and board the S.S. Tidal. If they haven’t already, they can also complete all the Trick House Chambers and do the Contests.

Also, be sure to do the Delta Episode. The story of the game is not exactly over the first time you see the credits roll.

6 Sword And Shield

Originally, Sword and Shield were not great in the post-game content department. However, expansions came out. This was something never done in Pokemon games before, and it did wonders for post-game activities. Two expansions were released, including The Crown Tundra and the Isle of Armor. Both introduced new areas, new Pokemon, and new activities for the player.

Once the story parts of these expansions were beaten though, the post-post game content was still a little lacking compared to some other titles.

5 Emerald

Like Platinum, Emerald was made a while after its sister games were released. It had some more bonus content, and a lot of players spent many hours on this one. They had the Battle Tower, Battle Dome, Battle Arena, and Battle Pike at the Battle Frontier. There is also the Safari Zone, which gets upgraded after you beat the game.

RELATED: 5 Things Temtem Does Better Than Pokémon (And 5 Things Pokémon Does Better)

The Contests are also something that can take up a lot of your time if you have not already completed them.

4 Platinum

Platinum had a little more to offer than Diamond and Pearl, so this one gets its own separate entry, despite them having a lot in common. This game had the Battle Zone, which included the Battle Frontier, a Resort Area, Survival Area, and a bunch of new routes. It is a big place compared to the space that Omega Ruby and Alpha Sahppire’s Battle Resort encompassed. There are also a decent amount of Legendaries you find and catch.

3 Black And White 2

Black and White 2 was Black and White but with even more content. Players had the Battle Institute, World Tournaments, the Subway Lines, White Forest, Black City, a final battle with their rival, a final battle with Colress, Funfest missions, N’s Castle, the Nature Preserve, upgrading your trainer card, and much more. In fact, it can be a little overwhelming once players know everything else they can do.

2 Gold, Silver, And Crystal

Few Pokemon games have done what Gold, Silver, and Crystal did in letting players explore an entirely different region after exploring their own. It is like two games in one. Once again, players can fight Gym Leaders, explore towns, work on their Pokédex, and fight Team Rocket. The cherry on top is Mt. Silver, where players get to fight against Red from the first series of games.

No game ever went has hardcore, except for one.

1 Heartgold And SoulSilver

The only game that went further than Gold, Silver, and Cyrstal, is its remake. Not only did it have the player still explore Kanto and fight Red on Mt. Silver, but it also had the Battle Frontier, Gym Leader, Rematches, and all with the fun of having the player’s favorite Pokemon following them. Not just that, but the remake Pokédex takes a much longer time to complete than the original.

NEXT: 10 Easter Eggs Only True Fans Caught In Pokémon Sword & Shield

立刻註冊及報名電腦補習課程吧!

Find A Teacher Form:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1vREBnX5n262umf4wU5U2pyTwvk9O-JrAgblA-wH9GFQ/viewform?edit_requested=true#responses

Email:

public1989two@gmail.com

www.itsec.hk
www.itsec.vip
www.itseceu.uk

So you beat the champion and watched the credits roll — but that doesn’t mean your Pokemon game journey is over.

So you beat the champion and watched the credits roll — but that doesn't mean your Pokemon game journey is over.

607
