Nick Frost nearly followed in his friend Simon Pegg into a galaxy far, far away. The British actor and comedian could have had a role in Disney\u2019s Star Wars<\/em><\/strong><\/a>\u00a0sequel trilogy had the offer not come with unsatisfactory conditions.<\/p>\n

During an interview on the\u00a0Celebrity Catch Up: Life After That Thing I Did<\/em> podcast, Frost said, \u201cIt was only a little bit but I was like, it\u2019s really small, the pay\u2019s rubbish\u2026 I\u2019ve got a family \u2013 I don\u2019t do this for free.\u201d This may seem\u00a0unsurprising to\u00a0fans of Frost’s work, considering his frequent collaborator and fellow Star Wars<\/em> fan Pegg<\/a> actually\u00a0had\u00a0a small role in\u00a0The Force Awakens<\/em>.<\/p>\n

In The Force Awakens<\/em>, Pegg was unrecognizable in his role as\u00a0the very unpleasant Unkar Plutt, The Jakku junk boss who sells food rations to\u00a0the scavenger turned Jedi Rey<\/a>\u00a0in exchange for salvaged spaceship parts. Frost and Pegg have worked together on many occasions, most notably in Edgar Wright’s Cornetto Trilogy, which includes the British comedies\u00a0Shaun of the Dead,\u00a0<\/em>Hot Fuzz,\u00a0<\/em>and The<\/em>\u00a0World’s End.\u00a0<\/em>Wright also had a small cameo as a resistance fighter in the second film in the sequel trilogy,\u00a0Star Wars: The Last Jedi.\u00a0<\/em>Frost doesn\u2019t give too many details on the role he was offered, only saying it was a small part and that he doesn\u2019t regret turning it down, despite his love for\u00a0Star Wars.<\/em> Speaking about the decision, Frost said\u00a0\u201cThere\u2019s a part of me that thinks, \u2018you could have been in Star Wars<\/em>\u2018\u2026 But fuck it. I tend to not to look backwards at all, so that doesn\u2019t really affect me as a choice I took because I think, well, it\u2019s done. I\u2019ve made the decision.\u201d<\/p>\n

It\u2019s also unclear as to which film he was offered a role in, but it\u2019s likely\u00a0The Force Awakens, <\/em>due\u00a0to his close friendship with Simon Pegg. It\u2019s interesting that the pay was so low since one would usually think that a role in Star Wars<\/em> would land any actor a sizeable paycheck. Disney has also recently come under fire for not paying the royalties owed to authors of previous Star Wars<\/em> material<\/a>, so perhaps\u00a0working within the Galaxy Far, Far Away doesn\u2019t necessarily guarantee a profitable outcome.<\/p>\n

Frost has appeared in a number of other films and television shows over the years, mostly playing\u00a0comedic roles. This includes the 2011 sci-fi comedy horror film\u00a0Attack the Block,\u00a0<\/em>which also features\u00a0a pre-Star Wars<\/em>\u00a0John Boyega<\/a> as a young leader of a group of teenagers fighting off an alien invasion in south London. More recently, Frost played a leading role in\u00a0Amazon Prime’s supernatural\u00a0spoof\u00a0Truth Seekers, <\/em>which reunited him with real-life friend Simon Pegg.\u00a0Frost\u00a0also co-created and served as an executive producer and writer for the series.<\/p>\n

Sadly,\u00a0Truth Seekers\u00a0<\/em>has been canceled after one season. Frost confirmed the news in a post on Instagram that read, \u201cWe really put our all into this \u2013 our heart and soul, and blood in some cases, so do not come back is really sad for us.\u201d Thankfully, Frost appears to have some other projects lined up, including a leading role in the second season of Paramount Plus series Why Women Kill<\/em>, and on the upcoming HBO Sci-fi series\u00a0The Nevers.<\/em><\/a><\/p>\n

The Star Wars<\/strong><\/em> saga is now available on Disney Plus.<\/p>\n
