Ubisoft’s The Division 2<\/em><\/strong> has had its share of ups and downs since its release, but the company has continued to support it.\u00a0Last\u00a0month, the company confirmed\u00a0The Division 2<\/em> would receive new content through 2022<\/a>, which further shows\u00a0the company’s commitment to the live-service game.<\/p>\n

In a recent update, Ubisoft reflected\u00a0on the progress of The Division 2<\/em><\/a>\u00a0in 2020 and thanked players for supporting the game. The update reveals the game reached a total of over 40 million players who are playing the game. On top of that, Ubisoft revealed that The Division 2<\/em> will be receiving new content in the form of a new game mode coming later this year.<\/p>\n

The update doesn’t provide too many details on the new game mode, only that it will be entirely new to The Division<\/em> game franchise. There aren’t any hints of what it will be or what players can expect from\u00a0the new game mode. It\u00a0will be released as part of a new update schedule for release this late 2021 at the earliest. Ubisoft is also\u00a0investigating new ways to further enhance player agents’ progression, specifically, with a focus on increasing build variety and viability for players in The Division 2<\/em><\/a>.<\/p>\n

According to the update, Season 5 will be returning The Division 2<\/em> Season 1 content into the game, mainly to give\u00a0players another chance to get rewards and collectibles they missed. Players will be able to participate in regular Leagues and Global Events, and Ubisoft will continue to support new Apparel Events and provide Title Updates\u00a0for\u00a0The Division 2<\/em><\/a>\u00a0geared towards\u00a0the game’s health.<\/p>\n

This decision is meant\u00a0to maintain player engagement\u00a0while developers work on new content and updates for the game. As part of the\u00a0<\/i>next update, the development of new The Division 2<\/em> content<\/a> will continue to be led by project veterans at Ubisoft Massive.\u00a0The new game content will also be made in collaboration with developers at Ubisoft Bucharest. Currently, the update’s development is still in its early stages and is estimated to several months to complete.<\/p>\n

Ubisoft also informs players on the status of its State of the Game streams. It states that the\u00a0long-term host, Harnish Bode, has taken a\u00a0new role in Ubisoft and will no longer be hosting the stream. Throughout the update, Ubisoft would thanks its players for their continued\u00a0support and passion for The Division 2<\/em>. The company does state that it will provide more information about the new game content as the next update’s release gets\u00a0closer.<\/p>\n

The Division 2<\/em><\/strong> is available now on PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X\/S.<\/p>\n
