As with most battle royale games, there’s a big competitive scene within Apex Legends<\/em><\/strong>. Not only are there the various esports games dedicated to the team and professional tournaments, but the standard ranked play in the game really lets players and characters shine. There’s a meta like any game, with many Apex Legends<\/em> tier lists<\/a> out there, but whether it’s Revenant or Rampart or any other character, players have plenty of reasons to take their main into ranked.<\/p>\n

Of course, climbing the ranks isn’t simple. Players have to earn 1200 RP to hit Silver, 2800 to hit Gold, 4800 to hit Platinum, 7200 to hit Diamond, 10K to hit Master, and then hit the top 750 players to earn the coveted Apex Predator Rank. Seeing those sky trails strike fear into many players, but the sheer fun of competitive Apex Legends<\/em><\/a> stands out. Then, at a certain point, the map changes and players are “soft reset” to a previous rank.<\/p>\n

From more casual, novice players to the more hardcore professional, there’s some debate on whether this Split should occur or not. That’s neither here nor there though, and there are some things players need to be aware of. Currently, the first Split is focused on Kings Canyon; once it resets, the competitive map will be Olympus. Kings Canyon<\/a> is popular among fans, so those who want to get most out of competitive play there should really focus on the next few weeks. After that, it’ll only be available in standard matches with rotations between it, Olympus, and World’s Edge.<\/p>\n

Thus, March 23 is a date that all Apex Legends<\/em> fans should take note of. This is when the split will occur and the map will become Olympus, though player should also aim to get their rank as high as possible. As with past seasons, the ranked split of Apex Legends<\/em> season 8<\/a> will set players back by one-and-a-half tiers. In other words, those who are Platinum II will be set back to Gold IV, those who are Gold IV will be set back to Silver II, and those who are Silver II will be set back to base Bronze. Basically, to understand the reset, players should look at the tier below them and subtract two from their number, and that’ll be their new ranking.<\/p>\n

As of this writing, that means there’s little more than two weeks before the reset. That’s plenty of time for some serious climbing, as long as Apex Legends<\/em> players are willing to do so again, but on Olympus<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Apex Legends<\/strong><\/em> is available now for PC, PS4, and Xbox One. A Switch version releases on March 9.<\/p>\n
