Xbox is looking to celebrate Halo: Reach<\/em><\/strong> with the community later this month. After announcing that\u00a0Halo<\/em> games on the Xbox 360 will be sunset<\/a> in December 2021, the community came together to create celebrations for its games. Recently, Xbox and 343 Industries voiced their support.<\/p>\n

With Halo 3, Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary, Halo 3: ODST, Halo 4, Halo Wars<\/em>, Halo: Spartan Assault<\/em>, and Halo: Reach<\/em> all going offline on the 360 by the end of 2021, fans joined forces to plan a Halo: Reach<\/em> day on the Xbox 360<\/a>. Things travel fast in the world wide web and word has gotten all the way to 343 Industries and Xbox, and their teams seem to be joining along.<\/p>\n

The call was originally sent out on TikTok by user\u00a0kayjayohpcs, who wanted those who still owned an Xbox 360 to join a big Halo: Reach<\/em> session as a birthday gift for himself, and the official Xbox account posted a response. A community team member from 343 Industries wished KayJay a happy birthday from the Halo<\/em> team, and then said he and the Xbox team could not wait to see everyone play\u00a0Halo: Reach<\/em><\/a> on March 13 at 5:00 p.m. EST on the Xbox 360.<\/p>\n

Halo: Reach<\/em> had one of the more memorable campaigns following the story of Noble 6, even if it did not star\u00a0John-117, the Master Chief. The Halo: Reach<\/em> multiplayer is unique thanks mainly to its armor abilities<\/a>.\u00a0The multiplayer map design was also\u00a0new in that the levels were built right out of the campaign, which altered balance a bit. Forge mode was perhaps the best that Halo<\/em> had ever seen, so the creations of the community were very special.<\/p>\n

Halo: Reach<\/em> is a part of Halo: The Master Chief Collection<\/em><\/a>, a jam-packed bundle of games in one package that manages to work\u00a0 wonders after multiple years of patches and tweaks. Thankfully games like Halo: Reach<\/em> will still be playable on the PC, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X|S once the 360 servers are shut down.<\/p>\n

Even if the games are available on modern consoles, the nostalgia of an old Xbox 360 is strong. There will likely be a lot of players on March 13 at 5:00 p.m. EST, so here is hoping those old servers can handle the influx that is on the way. Although, in kayjayohpcs’ original request, he did hope that so many people would join in that the servers would crash. With Xbox and 343 Industries putting their names behind it as well, that is looking likelier all the time.<\/p>\n
