While some fans may be aware that 4K remasters of the trilogy are coming to theaters, they may be excited to know that showings of the films are going to come packed with some extra features on the end from Stephen Colbert.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/peter-jackson-lord-of-the-rings-favorite-scene\/\"><em>Lord of the Rings<\/em> trilogy director\u00a0Peter Jackson<\/a> himself is set to reunite with the cast of the films for a special Q&amp;A reunion. It&#8217;s going to be quite the production as well, as the full list of guests includes Sean Astin,\u00a0Cate Blanchett,\u00a0Orlando Bloom,\u00a0Billy Boyd, Peter Jackson,\u00a0Ian McKellen,\u00a0Dominic Monaghan,\u00a0Viggo Mortensen,\u00a0Andy Serkis,\u00a0Liv Tyler, and\u00a0Elijah Wood. So, just about anyone fans could hope for will be in attendance.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<\/strong><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-go-stephen-colbert-joke\/\"><strong>Stephen Colbert Burns Pokemon GO In Monologue<\/strong><\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Not only that, there&#8217;s a little extra bonus for this star-studded lineup, as the entire production is set to be hosted by none other than <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pewdiepie-late-show-stephen-colbert-419\/\"><em>The Late Show<\/em>&#8216;s Colbert<\/a>. Anyone who has watched Colbert for long enough knows that the comedian is one of the biggest\u00a0<em>Lord of the Rings\u00a0<\/em>fans in existence, with an almost encyclopedic knowledge of the story and world.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"200\" height=\"113\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/y7CD8pozNIw?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Colbert&#8217;s fandom is so well known that he was even given a small cameo in <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/hobbit-actor-says-studio-interference-responsible-poor-reception\/\">Jackson&#8217;s\u00a0<em>The Hobbit<\/em><\/a> as a gesture of appreciation for his dedication. In fact, this reunion may be one of the first where the host ends up being a bigger fan than the majority of those watching the event. For superfans who aren&#8217;t hosting the reunion, questions can be submitted via Twitter until March 10th by using the\u00a0#LOTR20 hashtag.<\/p>\n<p>The reunion special is part of a concerted effort by theaters to get people back in and <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/sam-neill-jurassic-world-dominion-theaters\/\">watching films as lockdowns ease<\/a> up across the country. Of course, few need to be reminded that cinemas across the world have been forced to shut their doors, sometimes on an on-and-off basis, as part of the measures taken to contain the COVID-19 virus. A campaign titled\u00a0\u201cSupport Local Cinemas\u201d has been created and is sponsoring the event, in addition to helping to distribute similar Q&amp;As to theaters around the country free of charge.<\/p>\n<p>Each section of the Q&amp;A will be split up according to each movie, with different stars participating after different films.
