The ten games on this list all have their issues, and people should go into them with the knowledge that they&#8217;re rough around the edges, but every one of them can still provide hours of entertainment for anyone who is a fan of the game&#8217;s genre.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">10 <\/span>Spyro: Enter The Dragonfly (48 on GameCube)<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static0.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/spyro-enter-the-dragonfly.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/crash-bandicoot-spyro-dragon-playstations-best-platforming-mascot\/\">Spyro and Crash have gone hand in hand<\/a> throughout their careers; one similarity that they&#8217;ll want people to forget is that they both failed to impress with their highly anticipated PlayStation 2 releases, <em>Spyro: Enter The Dragonfly<\/em>\u00a0and\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/crash-bandicoot-wrath-cortex-hardest-platinum-relics\/\">Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Both games had very similar issues too. They\u00a0simply tried to recapture their predecessors&#8217; magic but lacked the proper execution and didn&#8217;t bring any impressive new features to the table. Despite its shortcomings,\u00a0<em>Spyro: Enter The Dragonfly\u00a0<\/em>was still thoroughly enjoyed by many fans of the original trilogy and was likely given such a low score due to unrealistic expectations.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">9 <\/span>The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring (59 on PS2)<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static2.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/fellowship-of-the-ring.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>When people look back at some of the\u00a0memorable\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/forgotten-video-game-genres\/\">movie-tie in games<\/a> that flooded the PlayStation 2,\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/lord-of-the-rings-games-play-waiting-gollum\/\"><em>Return of the King\u00a0<\/em>and\u00a0<em>Two Towers\u00a0<\/em>spring to the minds of many<\/a>, while\u00a0<em>Fellowship of the Ring\u00a0<\/em>is rarely\u00a0discussed.<\/p>\n<p>The main complaint that people had about\u00a0<em>Fellowship of the Ring\u00a0<\/em>was that it didn&#8217;t touch upon some of the film&#8217;s key moments, and a significant portion of the game is spent in the shire. There&#8217;s a good reason for this, as the game&#8217;s publisher,\u00a0Black Label Games, only had rights to make a game about the book. If this was made more clear to people, and the game didn&#8217;t release so shortly after the first film, then the game would have been better received, as it&#8217;s an enjoyable rendition of Tolkien&#8217;s first book.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">8 <\/span>Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal (47 on 3DS)<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static3.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2019\/12\/Sonic-Boom-Shattered-Crystal-Box-Artwork.jpeg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>When\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/sonic-boom\/\">Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>was first announced, many fans hoped that it would be a return to form for the blue hedgehog. Instead, they got a game that somehow\u00a0received even lower Metascores than the infamous\u00a0<em>Sonic The Hedgehog<\/em>, a game that had one saving grace: it was <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/10-enjoyable-games-scored-50-metacritic\/\">enjoyable in a &#8220;so bad it&#8217;s good&#8221; type of way<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\">RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/yakuza-games-best-according-metacritic\/\">13 Best Yakuza Games, According To Metacritic<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>A\u00a0Nintendo 3Ds game titled\u00a0<em>Sonic Boom: Shattered Crystal\u00a0<\/em>was released on the day, and although it didn&#8217;t receive scores as low as\u00a0<em>Rise of Lyric<\/em>&#8216;s 33, it still didn&#8217;t perform well. When the dust finally settled,\u00a0<em>Rise of Lyric\u00a0<\/em>was still dismissed as a complete flop, but\u00a0<em>Shattered Crystal\u00a0<\/em>began to receive some retrospective praise. The game is far from being the best platformer on the 3DS, though it will provide a thoroughly enjoyable eight-hour adventure for fans of the genre.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">7 <\/span>Pure Football (38 on Xbox 360)<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static0.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/pure-football.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>The\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/FIFA\/\">FIFA<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>series is one of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.titlemax.com\/discovery-center\/lifestyle\/the-top-50-highest-grossing-video-game-franchises\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">highest-selling video game franchises<\/a> of all time, though much of its player-base would love to see <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/best-soccer-video-games-not-fifa\/\">a\u00a0game come along that will provide serious competition<\/a> to EA&#8217;s money-machine. Ears were perked when one of the few companies that can challenge EA financially, Ubisoft, announced\u00a0<em>Pure Football,\u00a0<\/em>though a poor reception meant that the game didn&#8217;t receive a sequel.<\/p>\n<p>However, when looking past the game&#8217;s initial hype and judging it by what it is, an arcade-style spin-off to the more realistic <em>FIFA,\u00a0<\/em>there&#8217;s a lot of fun to be had with\u00a0<em>Pure Football. <\/em>This is\u00a0particularly the case with multiplayer, which can be great fun to play with friends. Many people seem to feel this way as the game has a 7.9 user score on Metacritic, which is impressive as users tend to be quite harsh with their scores on the site; the 7.9 score is the same as the Xbox One edition\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/Grand%20Theft%20Auto%20V\/\"><em>Grand Theft Auto V<\/em><\/a>, for example.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">6 <\/span>Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2: Grand Prix (58 on PS4)<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static2.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/06\/NickelodeonKartRacersGrandPrix.png' \/><\/figure>\n<p>Following the disappointment over the original\u00a0<em>Nickelodeon Kart Racers<\/em>, many people weren&#8217;t expecting to see a sequel. However,\u00a0<em>Nickelodeon Kart Racers 2: Grand Prix\u00a0<\/em>hit stores\u00a0just two years after its predecessor and managed to improve upon many of its shortcomings.<\/p>\n<p>To say that the game can hold a candle to\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/Mario%20Kart\/\">Mario Kart<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>would be disingenuous. However, it&#8217;s still a thoroughly enjoyable, causal racer that will provide hours of multiplayer entertainment alongside its single-player Grand Prix events.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">5 <\/span>Super Lucky&#8217;s Tale (59 on PC)<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static3.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/09\/super-luckys-tale-key-art.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>A 59 score is certainly not as bad as some of the other entries on this list, though it seemed like a very harsh score for a simple but enjoyably well-designed platformer with a marketable roster of characters. The game&#8217;s hub areas and levels are littered with things to do and items to collect, which will satisfy fans of classic collectathons such as\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/Banjo-Kazooie\/\">Banjo-Kazooie<\/a>.<\/em><\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s no doubt that\u00a0<em>New Super Lucky&#8217;s Tale\u00a0<\/em>is the better game as it fixes many of the original&#8217;s problems, particularly the camera issues. However,\u00a0<em><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/Super%20Lucky's%20Tale\/\">Super Lucky&#8217;s Tale<\/a>\u00a0<\/em>certainly doesn&#8217;t deserve to be remembered as a weak platformer, as it&#8217;s a fun and engaging game to complete 100%.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">4 <\/span>Spy vs. Spy (38 on PS2)<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static0.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/03\/spy-vs-spy.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p>The\u00a0fourth video game iteration of a comic strip by the same name,\u00a0<em>Spy Vs. Spy<\/em>\u00a0for the PlayStation 2 is the joint lowest-rated game on this list, with a score of just 38. The main issues that critics had with <em>Spy Vs. Spy<\/em> were its poor visuals and bland single-player campaign.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\">RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/free-pc-games-co-op-metacritic\/\">The 10 Free Co-op PC Games To Play Right Now (According to Metacritic)<\/a><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Although it&#8217;s hard to argue against these two points, the game does have a saving grace that may have been overlooked in reviews at the time and subsequently earns the game a spot on this list: the multiplayer.\u00a0 The game&#8217;s local multiplayer was hilarious fun with friends, and a glance at Google reviews of the game will show just how fondly some people remember it.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">3 <\/span>SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom \u2013 Rehydrated (66 on Switch)<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static3.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/battle-for-bikini-bottom-rehydrated-sales.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/spongebob-squarepants\/\"><em>SpongeBob SquarePants: Battle for Bikini Bottom \u2013 Rehydrated<\/em><\/a>&#8216;s 66 Metascore is the highest on this list, though the game certainly deserves a spot due to the cult classic remake having an <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/metacritic-highest-rated-games-user-score\/\">impressive user score<\/a> of 8.6, an Overwhelmingly Positive All Reviews mark on Steam, and general high praise from many\u00a0people who played it.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/watch?v=cZ1vmwX8h2c\">Gamespot&#8217;s video review<\/a> best exemplifies the divide between fan and critic opinions of the game. The\u00a0reviewer gave the game a brutal 2\/10 score, which resulted in one of the most one-sided like to dislike ratios in the channel&#8217;s history.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"item-title\"><span class=\"item-num\">2 <\/span>Crash Twinsanity (64 on PS2)<\/h2>\n<figure><img src='https:\/\/static3.gamerantimages.com\/wordpress\/wp-content\/uploads\/2020\/08\/Crash-twinsanity.jpg' \/><\/figure>\n<p><em>Crash Twinsanity<\/em>&#8216;s\u00a0faults are plain to see. There are many glitches, a short main story, and numerous control issues for players to contend with.\u00a0Traveller&#8217;s Tales has a good excuse for this, as they had to complete the game in an extremely tight schedule after the original plan, <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/incredibly-ambitious-video-games-cancelled\/\">a sci-fi adventure titled\u00a0<em>Crash Bandicoot Evolution,\u00a0<\/em>was scrapped<\/a> due to its similarities with\u00a0<em>Ratchet &amp; Clank,\u00a0<\/em>which hit stores during the game&#8217;s development.<\/p>\n<p>Despite the game&#8217;s faults,\u00a0<em>Crash Twinsanity\u00a0<\/em>was a great attempt at creating a more open Bandicoot game. A handful of the stages, particularly the introductory one, are among the franchise&#8217;s best.
