After shining the spotlight on Batman, Superman, Aquaman, and The Flash, it was obvious that the remaining two characters of the Justice League would soon receive a mention. But, Snyder offered a special honor to <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/wonder-woman\/\">Wonder Woman<\/a>, revealing a 40-second teaser and the character\u2019s poster on International Women\u2019s Day, marked on March 8.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The two items were shared on the Snyder\u2019s Vero page, using #IWD2021 in the caption to commemorate the day that celebrates the achievements of women around the globe. They also happen to arrive on the same day as WarnerMedia\u2019s announcement of a global campaign to celebrate <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/wonder-woman-1984-movie-delay-comic-variants-postponement\/\">Wonder Woman\u2019s 80th anniversary<\/a> of her first comics appearance. The event, called \u201cBelieve in Wonder,\u201d begins on International Women\u2019s Day and will end on October 21, Wonder Woman Day.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\" style=\"font-weight: 400;\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/zack-snyder-justice-league-darkseid-mcfarlane\/\">Check Out McFarlane&#8217;s Darkseid Figure For Zack Snyder&#8217;s Justice League<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">The teaser focuses on Diana Prince remembering the lessons she has learned that prepared her for the battle against Darkseid and Steppenwolf. Various voices can be heard, narrating dialogues that have previously been heard in the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wonder Woman<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> franchise, reminding the Amazonian hero of what is at stake. This structure is the common factor between the various teasers released for the other <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/justice-league-snyder-cut-heroes-poster\/\">Justice League members<\/a>. What stands out in the teaser is the shot of Wonder Woman going up against Snyder\u2019s scarier version of Steppenwolf.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/snydercut\/status\/1368960752590016512\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/snydercut\/status\/1368955535744114688\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">As the only female superhero on the Justice League in <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/every-dceu-movie-worst-best-ranked-rotten-tomatoes\/\">the DC Extended Universe<\/a>, Wonder Woman has become an important character over time, representing a segment of DC fans that have previously gone unnoticed. The DCEU has been largely male-dominated, with female characters generally playing either the love interest of the male lead, acting as a support system in some team-up superhero movies, or playing a villainous role. Wonder Woman, however, changed that trend.<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Having first appeared in 2016\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, Wonder Woman soon became an integral part of the DCEU. Though her role in the first film was a short one, her presence was appreciated by fans. From her epic introduction scene to her fighting alongside Ben Affleck\u2019s Batman and Henry Cavill\u2019s Superman, the Amazonian warrior had suddenly become a fan favorite. Her first solo film,\u00a0<\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wonder Woman<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">,<\/span><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> arrived on the big screen in 2017 and <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/gal-gadot-best-films-rotten-tomatoes\/\">Gal Gadot reprised the role<\/a> in 2017\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Justice League<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">, followed by 2020\u2019s <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Wonder Woman 1984.<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<p><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">While <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/zack-snyder-wonder-woman-photo-batman-superman\/\">Snyder portrayed Wonder Woman as a fierce warrior<\/a>, who could easily go head-to-head against DC\u2019s supervillain Doomsday, Joss Whedon\u2019s take on the <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Justice League<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> did not do her justice. While all of the <em>Justice League<\/em> characters suffered after Whedon took over the project, Gadot\u2019s Wonder Woman was reduced to being an object of sexualization in several <\/span><i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\">Justice League<\/span><\/i><span style=\"font-weight: 400;\"> scenes. Many fans who requested for the release of the Snyder Cut raised this issue several times, demanding that Wonder Woman be returned to her pre-Whedon glory.
