Inspired by Nintendo’s 2020 hit\u00a0Animal Crossing: New Horizons<\/em>, an indie\u00a0social sim titled Amber Isle<\/em><\/strong> is currently in development.<\/p>\n

In Ambertail Games’ debut game, players will assume the role of a\u00a0human in a prehistoric society, and will run a crafting business on a peaceful island. The characters are all stylized after different dinosaur species, which the developers comment aren’t use often enough in mainstream media, comparing them to the many species of\u00a0Pokemon<\/em><\/a>.\u00a0Amber Isle\u00a0<\/em>is also inspired by the shop management game Recettear: An Item Shop’s Tale<\/em>, Ambertail said.<\/p>\n

Not only does the gameplay look to be inspired by\u00a0Animal Crossing<\/em>‘s social simulation<\/a>, but the dialogue\u00a0also looks to mimic its vibe as well. In Ambertail Games’ peek at\u00a0Amber Isle<\/em>,\u00a0villagers, known as “Paleofolk,” emulate the same kind, positive behavior that villagers in\u00a0Animal Crossing: New Horizons\u00a0<\/em>are known for.<\/p>\n
