While not much is known about the game&#8217;s story, it was revealed that\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/pokemon-legends-arceus\"><em>Pokemon Legends: Arceus<\/em><\/a> takes place in the &#8220;Sinnoh of old.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p><em>Pokemon<\/em> fans\u00a0have determined\u00a0that the new game&#8217;s setting seems to take inspiration from the real-life Meiji era from Japan&#8217;s history. This period of time from 1868 to 1912 has gone down as Japan&#8217;s industrial revolution, and\u00a0taking inspiration from such, the Sinnoh region in\u00a0<em>Pokemon Legends: Arceus<\/em> appears to be a lot less developed that the Sinnoh presented in 2007&#8217;s\u00a0<i>Pokemon Diamond<\/i> and\u00a0<em>Pearl<\/em> games. This being the case, fans also got to see <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/nintendo-reveals-early-poke-ball-design-pokemon-legends-arceus\/\">how Poke Balls\u00a0looked<\/a> during this time period.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED: <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-legends-2022-release-date-great-development-time\/\">Why Pokemon Legends&#8217; 2022 Release Date Is a Great Thing<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>Now, although\u00a0fans of the franchise have always created <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-fan-knitting-every-pokeball-real-life\/\">their own unique Poke Ball art,<\/a>\u00a0many seem to\u00a0have especially taken a liking to these more industrial Poke Balls, with one fan even\u00a0creating photorealistic art of the device. In addition to the classic red Poke Ball, Reddit\u00a0user arnaudcroonen also created\u00a0photorealistic versions of both the staple Safari Ball and Premier Ball, imagining how they might look if they were to appear in\u00a0<em>Pokemon Legends: Arceus<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/www.reddit.com\/r\/NintendoSwitch\/comments\/lzttnh\/i_made_the_new_pokeball_from_pokemon_legends\/\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>On the game&#8217;s official website, it is noted that the Poke Balls of old were mostly made out of wood, and let out a puff of steam when a Pokemon was caught, as can be seen in\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-legends-arceus-open-world\/\"><em>Pokemon Legends Arceus&#8217;\u00a0<\/em>reveal trailer<\/a>. In the comments on the Reddit post, arnaudcroonen mentioned that they took some liberties with the device&#8217;s design to make it look more realistic, such as making the wooden panels converge at the center of the Poke Ball, as opposed to\u00a0having more parallel wooden panels as shown in official artwork. On Reddit, fellow users commended the artist for their skill and creativity, expressing their own desire for\u00a0physical models of the olden Poke Balls to put\u00a0display themselves.<\/p>\n<p>It will certainly be interesting to see if different types\u00a0of Poke Balls make their way into\u00a0<i>Pokemon\u00a0Legends: Arceus<\/i>, especially the Safari Ball, which begs the question as to whether\u00a0<em>Diamond<\/em> and\u00a0<em>Pearl<\/em>&#8216;s Great Marsh area will make an appearance as well. For now, fans can order <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/poke-ball-replica\/\">their own official Poke Ball replicas<\/a> in celebration of\u00a0<em>Pokemon<\/em>&#8216;s 25th anniversary.<\/p>\n<p>Regardless, with<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/pokemon-brilliant-diamond-shining-pearl-pre-order\/\"> pre-orders for <em>Pokemon Brilliant Diamond<\/em> and\u00a0<i>Shining Pearl<\/i><\/a> going live just earlier today,\u00a0fans are likely excited to be one step closer to what may be the open-world\u00a0<em>Pokemon<\/em> game of their dreams.
