This mode offers card sets for sale.<\/p>\n<p>Legistatlition still needs approval by the Federal Council&nbsp;and could become law sometime this spring.<\/p>\n<p>FIFA is just one game that has come under fire from various governments <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/tag\/loot-boxes\/\">over the years for the use of loot boxes<\/a>. Most recently, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2020\/11\/13\/ea-fifa-loot-box-lawsuit\/\">a class-action lawsuit against EA<\/a> was filed with the US District Court of Northern California, and back in October 2019, &nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2020\/10\/22\/ea-faces-loot-box-lawsuit-canada-games-including-fifa\/\"  rel=\"noopener\">a class-action lawsuit was filed against EA in Canada<\/a>, and it was fined &euro;10 million in The Netherlands.&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2020\/10\/30\/ea-10-million-euro-fine-fifa-loot-boxes-the-netherlands\/\"  rel=\"noopener\">The publisher is challenging the penalty<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>This isn&rsquo;t the first time EA has been singled out. In 2017, the French government called the firm out <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vg247.com\/2017\/11\/25\/french-senator-says-star-wars-battlefront-2-loot-boxes-are-uncomfortably-close-to-gambling\/\">for loot boxes in Star Wars Battlefront 2<\/a> stating they were uncomfortably close to gambling.<\/p>\n<p>The following year, the firm removed paid loot boxes from the game, but this was due to pressure from players.
