This new system could affect advertising opportunities for <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/tag\/twitch\/\">Twitch<\/a> streamers, such as bounties.<\/p>\n<p>Opposing livestreaming service YouTube already has a system that affects a content creator&#8217;s ad revenue, though many YouTubers have spoken out against it, saying that it&#8217;s detrimental to a user&#8217;s income from the platform. YouTube videos can become demonetized fairly easily based on the content in the video, sometimes even for swearing\u00a0during videos. <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/twitch-streamers-most-subscribers-followers\/\">Twitch supports the relationship between the creator and the audience<\/a> a bit more with channel subscriptions, which YouTube later added, and purchasing bits for livestreamers. Now, Twitch is adopting a similar &#8220;demonetization&#8221; system that influences a creator&#8217;s ads and opportunities.<\/p>\n<p><span class=\"related-single\"><strong>RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/grand-theft-auto-online-no-pixel-rp-server-valkyrae-join\/\">Valkyrae Joining GTA Online NoPixel RP Server<\/a><\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>According to open-source developer Daylam Tayari, who shared screenshots of the code to Twitter, the new system will rate how &#8220;brand friendly&#8221; each streamer is based on several factors.\u00a0These factors are\u00a0the streamer&#8217;s age, the streamer&#8217;s ban history including the reasons for suspensions, the <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/christian-streamer-plans-sue-twitch-ban\/\">streamer&#8217;s relationship with Twitch<\/a>, automod and automod level, partnership status, the age rating of the game being played, if a stream is set to &#8220;mature,&#8221; and a manual rating by the Twitch staff.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"320\" height=\"320\" frameborder=\"0\" src=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/tayariCS\/status\/1369230902409097218\" frameborder=\"0\"><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>While the purpose of this system hasn&#8217;t yet been confirmed by official sources, Tayari speculates that Twitch could use this in other ways as well, such as cost per mille (CPM) and bounties. CPM is one of the ways <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/twitch-sub-refund\/\">Twitch streamers make money via the platform<\/a>; it&#8217;s a flat rate per 1,000 views that Twitch pays the streamer, but the amount varies year-round.<\/p>\n<p>The Bounty Board, on the other hand, allows streamers to accept paid opportunities, a.k.a. bounties, such as sponsorships. Sometimes this surfaces in the way of game developers offering <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/lilypichu-twitch-stalker\/\">Twitch streamers<\/a>\u00a0to promote their game for compensation. So if Twitch were to limit these opportunities based on age, previous bans, or how active a content creator is with their chat, it could hurt or hinder some channels.<\/p>\n<p>Some speculate that <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/every-twitch-streamer-banned-2021-far\/\">Twitch&#8217;s new feature could be used for ban explanations<\/a>. In the case of Dr Disrespect, he claims to never have been informed of the reasoning behind the permanent ban, and such situations are common with other content creators as well. Twitch typically only explains the biggest community guideline that was violated, such as hateful conduct, without further context.
