This frame-by-frame LEGO remake was trending on\u00a0social media and even got the attention of Paramount Pictures, the\u00a0studio behind\u00a0the sequel.<\/p>\n<p><em>Top Gun: Maverick\u00a0<\/em>is the long-awaited sequel to Tony Scott\u2019s 1986 hit\u00a0<em>Top Gun<\/em>. Cruise is reprising his role as aviator Pete &#8220;Maverick&#8221; Mitchell, now is a flight instructor who takes his late partner\u2019s son, Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), under his wing. The original grossed $356 million on just a $15 million budget and won <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/take-look-insane-energy-behind-scenes-oscars\/\">the Academy Award<\/a> for Best Original Song for \u201cTake My Breath Away.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><strong><span class=\"related-single\">RELATED:\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/godzilla-vs-kong-trailer-lego-remake\/\">&#8216;Godzilla vs. Kong&#8217; Trailer Was Remade With LEGO<\/a><\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Augustus Danko, who goes by the name OnBeatMan on YouTube, shared his LEGO version of the\u00a0<em>Top Gun: Maverick<\/em>\u00a0trailer on social media. Danko stated that after months of \u201cpainstaking work,\u201d he recreated the trailer in LEGO, one frame at a time. He even asked other LEGO builders and animators to help out with the ambitious project. The American brick filmmaker said he would release a behind-the-scenes mini-doc shortly. The video has accumulated over 200, 0000 views in just three days. Paramount Pictures stated the video was \u201cincredible\u201d and \u201cone of the finest ever produced&#8221; on its official Twitter account.<\/p>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"200\" height=\"113\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/bEzbim8peGU?start=4&#038;feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Miles Teller told\u00a0<em>Men\u2019s Journal\u00a0<\/em>that the\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/screenrant.com\/top-gun-2-no-greenscreen-miles-teller\/\"  rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><em>Top Gun<\/em>\u00a0sequel\u00a0avoided using any green screen<\/a>. Instead, the actor had to take flight training for three months so that he could \u201cget comfortable with the crafts\u201d and shoot \u201call of the aerial elements\u201d with ease. The flight sequences shown in the trailer for the sequel are impressively recreated, emulating the style of\u00a0<em>Top Gun: Maverick<\/em> director Joseph Kosinski, who previously worked with Cruise in the 2013 sci-fi film <em>Oblivion.<\/em>\u00a0The loaded ensemble cast of <em>Maverick <\/em>also\u00a0includes Jon Hamm (<em>Mad Men<\/em>), Ed Harris (<em>Apollo 13<\/em>), Jennifer Connelly (<em>A Beautiful Mind<\/em>), and Glen Powell (<em>Set It Up<\/em>). Val Kilmer is also retuning as Tom &#8220;Iceman&#8221; Kazansky.<\/p>\n<p><em>Top Gun: Maverick<\/em> cost over $150 million to produce and was originally slated to be released in theatres in 2019. Paramount first moved the sequel&#8217;s release back a year to give the filmmakers extra time to work out the logistics of presenting flight sequences with new technologies and planes. Due to the pandemic, <a href=\"https:\/\/gamerant.com\/top-gun-maverick-quiet-place-2-move-next-year\/\"><em>Top Gun: Maverick<\/em> was forced to delay<\/a> its theatrical release by another full year.
